    What can I say that yelpers haven't said already. I got a groupon and excited to use it. I've been here a few years ago with my cousin and just as we were amazed that time, Mr Charlie was just as humorous, happy and charming. It was like the "simple" way of great services and doing one thing right and to perfection.... Cheesecake ;) . I love the small bite idea (thus the name poppers) , as sometimes we just need a couple to satisfy ones craving. I'd definetly recommend this place over any "factory's". Plus we need to support our "friendly," mom & "pop", local business's in our area. Ps. His infamous sticker is securely placed on my fridge, in case of emergency :) My previous yelp spoke of the cheesecake itself and still holds true. Just wanted to mention more of the guest experiences as we all come to experience from Charlie. Yes there really is a Mr. Charlie :)

    Best cheesecakes ever. Purchase a Groupon or find their specials on Facebook, and just go. They have the best cheesecake party poppers ever. The owner and baker, Charlie, mentioned that they would taste best out of the freezer, but I prefer to fridge them. The softer they are, the more flavors I can taste. My favorite has been the original cheesecake, strawberry and blueberry. I love the fact that this is a mom-and-pop bakery, and Charlie himself works every day. It really shows his passion for baking cheesecakes, one that I am happy to support. A fresh batch is available daily so there is no need to place an advanced order, unless you want one of the more specialized flavor cheesecakes. Parking is in a small private lot, shared with other businesses.

    Purchases a Groupon and went to redeem it today met Charlie and made a pinky promise about his magnet and then got my poppers and I was on my way! The store smells sooooo good . Cheesecake was very good, I like then straight out of the freezer but my friend said she liked it soften cause you can taste the flavors more, either way still taste delicious to me though. I like that the cheesecake has a bit of tart to it and jot too too sweet. You can really taste all the different assorted flavors. my favorite in the box was the original, key lime and coffee. If I have an event that I think calls for cheesecake, I'll skip baking it now and will just order one from Charlie. In a small little thrift store next to Almaden Lake Park, come support this awesome mom and pop shop!

    3 years of being on my Yelp bucket list and sadly didn't live up to the hype. Where I would love to give Charlie's 4 or even 5 I simply cannot bring myself to do so. I got really lucky in that on the morning of a day I was due to be in Campbell a Groupon deal appeared, $15 for 2 dozen poppers. I arrived at around 3:30pm and met Charlie who seemed really nice and we spoke for a while as I redeemed my deal. The Poppers come in boxes of 12 of the standard flavors (Chocolate, Vanilla, Key Lime, Blueberry, Raspberry ect) and are kept in the freezer. As I purchased 2 boxes I placed one back in the freezer as soon as I got home and over the next 5 days Hubby and I shared the other. Where the majority of the reviews rave about how amazing these are I would have to disagree, I just really wasn't feeling them. The flavors were good and spread throughout the entire little cake but the texture just didn't sit right with me. Instead of the dense yet still creamy texture I expect Cheesecake to be these were gooey almost paste-like and the crust instead of crispy Graham Cracker was like soggy Sugar Cookie. Maybe I made the mistake in eating these as Cheesecake should be - thawed and they are in fact better frozen..? As I still have a dozen in the freezer I will try a different approach to how I serve them and maybe then I may enjoy them a little more.

    Bought a Groupon for cheesecake bites. It was my first time trying Charlie's cheesecake. When I went to cash in my Groupon Charlie himself greeted me. He is such a sweet guy and made me feel so welcomed. I picked up the cheesecakes bites. I was told to keep in the freezer and take them out for ten minutes before serving. I couldn't wait to get home and share them with my family. These little pieces of goodness were so good and my family loved them too. We will definitely be going back without a Groupon!

    Best (mom &) pop shop for poppers! Wonderfully smooth, yummy, sweet, but not overbearingly sweet cheese cake poppers! First time here & Charlie let me sample an original cheesecake popper and became instantly sadden of the fact that they were out of the 35 PC pack! Then again I did arrive one hour before closing, but was lucky enough to score the yelp special 12 PC pack for $9.99! Will be returning very soon to score the bigger pack & be returning in the future for the specialty cheesecake 9" rounds! I wish it was October already to try their pumpkin flavor. Can't stop thinking of their cheesecake!!! Everything was so good!!! P.s I kept my pinky promise Charlie! First thing I did was put the magnet on my fridge! Even before I put the cheesecake in the freezer. :)

    The cheesecake poppers taste amazing, especially when they're frozen! I bought these with a Groupon for our Fourth of July bbq and it was a hit. No need to order ahead, Charlie's got a bunch of these in stock. I think you can pretty much buy it however many days in advance and just stick it in the freezer. My only complaint is that the pictures are VERY deceiving. These babies are TINY -- about the size of a macaron. I meant to only buy three cases because I thought they would be twice the size of what they actually are. As soon as I saw it in person I had to ask for another case, which came out to be a lot more than what I had wanted to spend for our potluck... good thing I used a Groupon. Although they're super tiny, I must admit they are the perfect bite-size. Love that there's no need to cut it and they're small enough for you to have room to try every single flavor. I definitely would return... But maybe not anytime soon because they're a little pricey and super far into South San Jose from where I live.

    No need to wait or give this place another try because upon walking inside I knew I was going to love it. It's a very small shop in a quaint shopping center, the sign stood out to me way across the parking lot. I walked inside and saw an older gentleman sitting there and I said "You must be Charlie" and he replied "Yes I am, how can I help you?", since it was my first time there I wanted to try more than one flavor but I had plenty of questions. I asked about what flavors came in the 6 pack of cheesecake poppers and if they could be swapped out. Charlie answered all of my questions and was very patient with me while I tried to decide on what I truly wanted. The standard flavors that come in the 6 pack are: strawberry, raspberry, chocolate, blueberry, plain and the sixth flavor can either be pumpkin or cappuccino. I opted for the one that came with cappuccino since I do not care for pumpkin. The cheesecakes are kept in the freezer to keep them fresh and from spoiling, I knew they weren't defrosted but as soon as I got in the car I ate the plain one as is and it was still good. It is best to wait they are thawed out because they taste much better and they are extremely creamy. I have wanted to try this place for quite some time since I love cheesecake and heard they were the best and I'm glad I came. Best homemade cheesecake I've ever tasted and tons of different flavors.

    Came here to redeem 2 groupons. You don't get to choose the flavors for groupons, but they include a good amount of variety in it: blueberry, strawberry, chocolate, key lime pie, cappuccino, raspberry, and Silicon Valley classic. Very good straight from the freezer. Do not thaw it like a regular cheesecake. Charlie was super sweet! The only thing that keeps me from going there more often is distance. Try it, you'll like it. The end.

    Went in for the first time to buy some poppers for the oncology nurses at Kaiser. We were greeted immediately and she was super friendly.     I've driven past this place multiple times and was always curious to try it, but the busy schedule always makes me continue to drive on by. When I saw the Groupon deal I thought "all right no excuses I GOTTA stop in now!" And boy it did not disappoint! With or without Groupon, I definitely recommend this place. I was immediately and warmly welcomed by an elderly gentleman (possibly the eponymous Charlie?), and he was personable and enthusiastic. I don't know if anyone feels this way, but as soon as you mention Groupon you're treated like a second -rate customer at other establishments. This was NOT the case at Charlie's Cheesecake Works! The man recommended to keep the cheesecakes frozen, as they can be eaten straight out from the freezer! He saw my hesitation as we all know that cheesecakes should be thawed! To prove his point he gave me a cheesecake popper right there on the spot on the house right out of the freezer! He is right - they're just as delicious out of the freezer. I asked to buy another solitary cheesecake popper to give to my sister who was waiting in the car but he insisted on giving me another free one. Prior to handing me my order, he gave me a Charlie's magnet and made me "pinky-promise" to place the magnet on my refrigerator. Not only will I retain that promise, but I will definitely be returning to Charlie's and recommending it as well!

    More people need to know about Charlie's Cheesecakes Works! I was introduced to the poppers earlier this year, and have been thinking about them ever since. Each time my friend who introduced me to Charlie's is responsible for dessert, I look forward to the poppers. Enjoy the pack either frozen or thawed. Both are great. There a wide assortment of flavors and they're all delicious. This afternoon, I decided to stop in, first hand, to pick up some NYE desserts. I ended up grabbing a 12 pack ($11) for the party and a 6 pack ($6.50) for home. The poppers are perfect bite sized treats especially for those who don't have a big sweet tooth. But I am now curious about how his full sized cheesecakes are. That'll have to wait for my next occasion...perhaps my birthday? Tell all of your friends about Charlie's! Anyone who doesn't know about this place is missing out!

    Simply AMAZING! Went here for the Yelp deal, but will be back time and time again for the outstanding cheesecake and excellent service. I wanted to get some cheesecake for my wife for her birthday and came across a deal on Groupon and Yelp for Charlie's and decided to give them a try. I was actually stuck in traffic coming from work and not sure I would make it by closing time so I called to double check their hours. I spoke to Charlie himself and he confirmed their hours and told me he would even be willing to stay late a few minutes for me if need be. Traffic drug on even longer and I called again at 5 minutes to closing and told him unfortunately I was still 15 or more minutes away. Yet again Charlie assured me he would wait for me and it wasn't a problem. In a world where places try to shut their doors 3-5 minutes early, here was Charlie offering to stay up to 15 minutes past closing time for me! I eventually made my way there 15 minutes late and Charlie greeted with with a smile friendly as could be. He got me exactly what I wanted and explained all of their other options as well without pressuring at all. He even honored the Yelp deal even though he didn't have to after hours. We chatted for 10 minutes and he could not have been a nicer or more personable guy. Oh and the cheesecake? DELICIOUS! I bought the sampler bites to try them all and they were all decadent. I strongly recommend Charlie's for the outstanding service and amazing cheesecakes. I will definitely be coming back again in the very near future. Stay away from the Cheesecake Factory's of the world and support a local business like Charlie's! Their pricing is equal to or better than competition, their ingredients are natural, and you won't find better service!

    Charlie is a great man and he makes great cheesecakes! It's as simple as that. No preservatives or anything bad, all natural, so you don't have to feel guilty from poppin' all of those cheesecake poppers...how can you not when they're so delicious and the perfect size! He's super helpful and also lets you sample one for free. Charlie also had us take a bite of the strawberry and one bite of the key lime so that way it would be like "a strawberry margarita in our mouths." They were great. These cheesecakes don't have the thick graham cracker crust on the bottom which I admire, but that's my moms favorite part so she wasn't a huge fan. They're also a little on the tart side, which is also my favorite. I will return to this place next time for my cheesecake fixings!

    Just a minute in-and-out and I was given my two dozen cheesecake poppers I came in for, a pinky swear to put Charlie's magnet on my fridge, a promise to visit again, and also a free popper to try straight from his fridge. Charlie is a wonderful character and my Groupon was redeemed with the most ease. You know that his cheesecakes are carefully crafted when you step in the door. It reminds me of a mom-and-pop shop, but not filled with sugar or cheese smells. We need more of those.

    I love this place! I work in the Almaden Valley and came across this place on my way to work. I came in and told Charlie (the owner) that this was my first time here and he gave me a sample to try and I was HOOKED. I bought two dozen for my coworkers to eat with me and we destroyed them all as soon as I got there. It's a mom and pop shop, and you can definitely feel the difference in customer service. Charlie also gave me a discount for being a first time buyer and I ended up putting the difference back into his tip jar, which goes to his grandkids. How cute is that?     Unbelievable how good these cheesecake bite size are! Walking in Charlie (owner) saying hello to us asked us if we've ever been here before. We said no, and he asked well how did you hear about us then? I said your mailers..(there in your penny savers) he smiled and said well please have a sample. We did and we both looked at each other. Cause we knew we were in trouble!!! They will melt in your mouth! They are absolute the best! I'm totally taking theses to my next party and now will be a regular there!     I am very selective when it comes to cheesecake. My favorite place in the bay area for cheesecake is Charlie's. I've been religiously going to Charlie's for years. I love the quality of his cheesecake and the outstanding customer service. Mr. Major is friendly and fun to talk to! :) Unless you know exactly what flavor cheesecake you want, I highly recommend first timers to go try out Charlie's Poppers Party Pack.     One late night I was feeling naughty. It was nearly 1 am and I was craving cake. Not just any cake, cheesecake. I typed it into yelp because I had no better way to spend my night than tease myself with a closed cheesecake place. I scrolled down all the uninteresting options, and almost gave up, when Charlie's caught my eye. The pictures looked absolutely incredible, the only other pictures I've seen showcase such beauty would be stills of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I bookmarked. My boyfriend, also known as my Yelp-finds partner in crime, also loves cheesecake. I showed him the place and he agreed we had to try it out. 12 assorted cheesecake poppers for $9.99?! Where do I sign in blood? We both work at a retail store that gives employees incentives for opening store credit cards. We pooled together our money from opening credit cards ($1 for each account) and waited till we had enough to come and get our new children. Today was that day. We drove here in light traffic from the east side of San Jose, roughly 20 mins. Finding this place can be kinda tough, because it's in a random location. Bonus: it's next to a small thrift store! Perfect. We walked in and were greeted by a woman employee. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to meet Charlie, since he was so raved about on Yelp. She was kind, but also a little pushy. It seemed like she wanted to get us out fast. However she did go through the motions that Charlie did for everyone else. She gave us a free sample, and a yelp discount because we mentioned it. Normal price without the discount is $11! She pulled them out straight out of the freezer and I was a little hesitant to eat them because I thought it would've been really hard and cold. I was immediately put at ease within the first bite. The cheesecakes were soft and yummy despite being in the freezer. It was on my mind the whole way there because I knew I would throw a tantrum in the store if I had to wait for them to thaw out. The mere thought of waiting for the slow defrost of cheesecakes makes me sick to my stomach. Thank you Charlie's for having natural ingredients that don't get rock hard in the freezer. Before our departure back to the east side during prime time for traffic, the woman gave us a pamphlet with more information about their other cheesecakes. Their special flavors have to be ordered at least three days in advanced and can be done so online. I've had many different types of cheesecakes in my life, in fact it used to be my go- to celebratory cake for special occasions; the most popular being whenever my parents would go out of town for the weekend. I like my cheesecake with a nice, delicious crust. It's just not right for a cheesecake to be without one. Charlie's hit the mark with their light crust at the bottom. It's absolutely divine. Imagine every bite sending you deeper down a flavorful black hole which you never want to come out from. My absolute favorite was the cappuccino one, he got the flavor just right with this one. It's so that the one bite it takes to scarf down the popper is what it would probably feel like to be in a small, overpriced cafe in Paris. Yes, that good. Would I recommend to a friend: they claim, on their pamphlet, to be "the best of Silicon Valley" and I concur. Drop that Safeway cheesecake platter and order their 30 cheesecake popper assortment for the next party you go to instead. Be the envy of the family reunion this summer, but beware of them getting too soft if left out for too long.

    I'm not a big fan of cheesecake (I know there's something wrong with me). But I had to buy a mini birthday present for my friend so I popped over to Charlie's, with the help of Yelp. The shop owner was very nice, it was my first time here and they offered me a sample cappuccino; LOVED IT! Tiny and easy to eat, you just pop'em in your mouth and voila~ you are hooked. Like my friend, who loves cheesecake, finished the 12 pack in a day. I think the 12 pack included cappuccino, vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate(?). I will have to try the other flavors. Not sure about the pricing for the reg cheesecakes, but it was $10 for the 12 pack of poppers just mention Yelp! I live ~30 mins away and it's absolutely worth the drive. I would and will tell anyone who isn't a fan of cheesecake to check these out. I'm half tempted to bring these to one of my classes (we college students need more joy in our lives), and share Charlie's cheesecakes with the world!

    We decided to to drive a long ways to buy a box of 35 mini cheesecake poppers to give for my sister's bday treat since she's a big fan of cheesecake. We were greeted by a gentleman, I think Charlie who all the fellow yelpers described him to be. He asked if we've visited the store before. I had told him it was our first time and he immediately took a sampler box and said to us that the rule is we had to try 1. How nice of him to do so. I'm personally not a fan of cheesecake but these poppers may have changed that. I like how cute of a bite size they are and just enough to indulge. It's not too sweet and you can actually taste the flavor it's suppose to be. We ended up buying the 35 pieces and a sampler box of 6. I really liked the vanilla/classic, strawberry and raspberry. They were delicious! I'll be back again to order for our parties.

    AMAZING CHEESECAKES AND AMAZINGLY SWEET CHARLIE! These cheese cakes are made by Charlie and he has been making them for a very long time. They are featured in several restaurants in the Bay Area and also being sold at Costco. He is just recently getting the recognition he deserves so his delicious cheesecakes are easier to find, but for the complete assortment go to his Almaden location on Redmond. His cheesecakes are creamy and flavorful with just the right amount of savory crust. You can order cheesecakes on the internet or the telephone in mini size or regular size in a wide range of flavors, and they will be ready for pick up at your convince. Try a sample variety of mini's for your next party or event! They will make you look good. ;) Charlie can still be found making deliveries and taking orders but he is just as sweet as he has always been so, if you have a special request - just ask!

    I tasted Charlie's cheesecake poppers at an event I went to, and they were delicious! The cheesecakes were very creamy and not too sweet (although the blueberry one was sweeter than I want). I tried the original, strawberry, and blueberry, and they were all really flavorful and super creamy (I don't want to think about how they made it taste so good). The person who ordered it said it was $22.50 for 35 bite-sized cheesecakes, which is a bit expensive in my opinion. Otherwise, the cheesecake flavor is great, it's soft, and the crust is also really good! I wish there was more crust though. Anyway, I may not go to Charlie's to get cheesecake bites myself, but if I have to get an event catered, I would definitely consider it!

    Katherine C. first introduced me to Charlie's, and it has forever changed my perception of cheesecake. It's great that the 12-pack of party poppers come in all of the assorted flavors. It's perfect to bring to a potluck so everyone can sample a little bit of each. My favorite would have to be the key lime. It has a strong tart flavor, but it goes so well with the creaminess of the cheesecake. The blueberry and strawberry are a close second and third. I prefer my cheesecake to be a little harder, so keep these in the freezer if you don't want them to get too soft. I pre-ordered these online for the bf on Valentine's Day, and the owner had these ready for me once I got there. There were several other people picking up their orders too, and he helped all of us in a timely manner with a smile on his face.

    These properly named "Party Poppers" are truly a party in your mouth, and once you pop one in your mouth you won't be able to stop eating them. My coworker got me hooked on these after bringing them to a work party, so the next weekend I had to pay Charlie's Cheesecake Works a visit. This little shop is located in a rather random plaza, but I love it because it's easy to find parking. The minute I walked in I was warmly greeted and given a sample; he sure knows how to win me over! After letting me try one of the cheesecake poppers, I proceeded to buy a party pack for myself (there is a Yelp check in deal for these!) and two more 12 piece packages to give to my friends. He also left me with magnets and menus, and now that I see how many other flavors are offered, I'll be coming back to order more personal cheesecakes, bambinos, and full sized cheesecakes. What makes these cheesecakes so darn good is that he uses a shortbread crust that stays crunchy, even though you eat these cheesecakes straight out of the freezer. I am addicted to every single flavor I have tried, and I can assure you that you'll love Charlie's Cheesecake Works just as much as I do once you give them a try.

    Mm cheesecake poppers! I went here last week for those bad boys. It was my first time here and I didn't ask for the yelp discount. Oh well. The store is located in a random plaza and is definitely a mom and pop shop. I did not have trouble locating the shop, because it said "Cheesecake" on it. As for the cheesecake poppers, they were really good! I loved them! I like to eat them straight from the freezer, it gives it more density and it's best like that.     A bit on the pricey side but they're good!!! TELL THE OWNER THAT YOU CAME FROM YELP and he'll give you a dollar discount! I got the pack of 12 and was a tad bit disappointed that I didn't get to choose my own cheesecake flavors. Most of them were good though, so I didn't mind too much. I think they're best to share between two people for a 12 pack because most of the flavors come in twos. When you first go, Charlie will let you try a sample mini popper of your choice! After you buy, he'll give you a pamphlet of all the other flavors they have (which made me a little sadder because there were flavors on there that I would've much rather tried than some of the ones that came in the premade pack), as well as a magnet. Come if you're craving cheesecake and feeling a little adventurous!

    SOLD AT FIRST BITE! Charlie's Cheesecake is absolutely delicious! The owner Charlie is too precious, not only does he make all the cheesecake, but he is the front man of his shop! When we first walked in, immediately we mentioned we were new and found him on yelp, so right away he handed us samples to try! The blueberry popper was perfect, small light and just sweet enough where you crave more! The vanilla was similar to a classic cheesecake and was just as awesome!     The cheesecake poppers here are soooo good and super addicting! The cheesecake itself is really creamy and good frozen.     This review is strictly about the cheesecake. I am not quite understanding why the cheesecake is getting excellent reviews. I guess many people have boring taste. Despite it coming in many flavors, the taste is mediocre and not memorable. The Key Lime flavor seems awful (the whiff I got from it was so off-putting that I did not even bother to try it)--it smells like Pine-sol and probably tastes like it too. Please look for cheesecake elsewhere...

    I found this hidden gem thanks to buying a Groupon for their cheese cake poppers. Not only were they amazing and delicious but Charlie has brought back customer service! He was warm, informative and even gave me a sample as a first time client, and was treated like a long time friend. Being in public relations I can't tell you how that was key to making me a customer for life no matter the drive across town and of course the amazing cheesecake which comes in different sizes and flavors. This was a 10 star experience for me and if you mention Yelp there's even a nice perk which Charlie himself mentioned to me, try it out for yourself, quick party grab, just a night of indulgence or family night you won't be disappointed!     I came here, with total faith in the Yelp reviews for Charlie's, and ordered a party pack and another dozen without trying any of the cheesecakes. I took the party pack to a birthday BBQ and everyone there loved it. The little poppers were delicious. I think they're best frozen. Once they thaw out they're quite soft. I tried the chocolate, cappuccino, and key lime flavors. I think key lime might be my favorite, even though I'm a chocolate person. It's tart but not as much as a key lime pie. I'll most likely buy a full-size key lime cheesecake next time!

    I'm not normally a cheesecake person, mainly because cheesecakes typically come in such a big pieces and I can never finish it, so when I saw pictures of Charlie's mini cheesecakes, I knew I had to try it out. They looked so cute! The guy who helped us (I assume was the owner) was so nice. He asked if I've ever been here before, asked how I found out about the place and insisted I try one before buying. I picked the raspberry one. It was soft, not too hard and the layer at the bottom tasted like a thin graham cracker. It was just heaven. I bought a 6 pack (for $6) with a variety of cheesecakes but only allowed myself 2 (gave the rest to my mother in law). I tried the chocolate and cappuccino. All the flavors were delicious, no disappointments, but the cappuccino one blew me away. A must try!

    Upon entering we were greeted by Charlie himself. He offered my kids including myself a sample of his poppers of any flavor of our choice. Wow, so tasty and he's so kind. I ordered each one of us a personal size cheesecake to go. Upon checkout, he gave us a sample of 12 poppers. I think because he's taken by my little ones and he feels bad I travel so far with the little ones to find Charlies Cheesecake Works. His cheesecake tasted so delicious and so addictive not overpowering or too sweet like the ones from The Cheesecake Factory.     Came here for the first time on a Sunday and we were welcomed by Charlie himself. We sampled the key lime and plain cheesecake which we enjoyed so we ended up buying the 35 pack of poppers. It came with chocolate, cappuccino, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, plain, and key lime flavors. They were all very good, but my favorite were the strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry. Ok they were all delicious!!! You can keep them in the freezer and leave them out for like 5 minutes. They are then soft and creamy and full of flavor. We will definitely be going back for more!!

    I am not a huge fan on cheese cakes, sometimes even one slice can be too much for me to finish. But Charlie's bite size cheese cake poppers are perfect. I bought four dozens at once and ate 6 pieces in matter of 30 minutes. Seven different flavors and each cheese cake popper is about two bites, what's not to like? Delicious small bites.     Thanks to my awesome wife for finding this place on Yelp for my birthday dessert! The Poppers Party Pack (35pc, 1oz each) standard flavor loadout is five each of: - Classic Vanilla - Strawberry - Chocolate - Raspberry - Key Lime - Blueberry - Cappuccino... ... but you can ask them to switch some out and switch others in (e.g. more Blueberry less Strawberry, or even adding other flavors, subject to availability). For example, pumpkin flavor Poppers are available after the autumnal equinox (or when customers order pumpkin cheesecakes). The Poppers can be served defrosted (15 minutes at room temperature) or straight out of the freezer. I think you can't go wrong either way--Charlie gave me a sample straight from the freezer, and it was cold but not frozen solid. He explained that because they're all-natural, they don't get rock-hard in the freezer. (I chose Classic Vanilla for the sample, and it was amazing.) The 35pc Poppers Party Pack is already a reasonable* $25, and Charlie---yes, the namesake owner works there---offers a Yelp Check-In discount. I don't have a smartphone, but he still gave me a $1.50 "Friends and Family" discount. *: a great bargain compared to $4 mini cupcakes, right? Customer service was outstanding. Charlie indulged my request for an empty 12pc tray so I could split up the Party Pack for two events.     LOVE AT FIRST BITE! ;) The first time I ever ate a cheesecake popper was at a catered work event and I didn't know it was from Here..boy was I happy to find this place! I didn't even find it out til I saw it has a Fresh Guide deal of the day. To say the least- I was clicking purchase as soon as the image loaded on the screen! Lol The coupons were such a good deal too! $12 for a 24 pack of poppers! I bought 3! When I went to redeem them it was Charlie the Cheesecake man himself there! That was pretty cool, to see the actual owner/ founder of the place and workin his magic slicing the cheesecake with some crazy slicing machine! Charlie was super nice and even offered me a sample of his delicious poppers. I brought my poppers to a friends party as well as a family one. THEY WERE A HIT! Everyone loved them.     All I can say is WOW! Charlie's cheesecake poppers ( yelp.com/biz_photos/lDLz… ) are sooo good and addicting! I looove eating cheesecake and it's great that I don't feel as guilty eating these cute little poppers. They are delicate, soft, and they come in just the right size--perfect for parties! One of the best things about cheesecakes is the crust on the bottom and each popper has it's own yummy layer! I'm not sure if I should be happy about this new pleasure of mine, as I know that it won't be so delicate on my thighs and hips! Oh well...it's okay to indulge sometimes, right?! I don't regret it one bit! You won't either, so give them a try! By the way, Charlie is extremely hardworking, as he runs the entire store by himself!! He was the biggest sweetheart ever!     I came here today to redeem a certificate I bought with CBS Offers and got 2 packs of mini cheesecakes. They were already assorted and pre-packed. When I walked in the door, a man approached me and asked what he could help me with. He was very friendly. I think he might have been Charlie (the owner). I told him I wanted to redeem the cert and handed it to him. He showed me what I was getting and asked me if I wanted to give him an extra $5 to get the cardboard box of 36. I kindly thanked him and said no because I was giving the 2nd pack to my boyfriend's family. I didn't try the cheesecake until I got home. I tried the raspberry one and OH MY ...I was in love. Charlie is very sweet and like he said, you can't buy without trying them first. I tried the key lime flavor and it was delicious. Some of my friends says it's too sour for them and some of their favorites are strawberry and raspberry. I, on the other hand, like each and every one of them. They are small and easy to eat. Beware, they may get addicting. I heard you can also get them from Costco! Double yay since Costco is closer.

He had me try the strawberry cheesecake, and it was scrump-diddly-yumcious! I bought the assorted 12 pack, and he gave me about $1.50 discount for mentioning that I heard about him from people's check-in on Facebook -_-. Overall, the cheesecake bites were good, but a lot smaller than I had expected. But I guess the smaller it is, the more appetizing it seems? I do wish the crust was more of a graham cracker crust though. I'll definitely be back for the party pack of 36 for $20! Everyone is already buggin' me about it =/. If you like cappuccino, then you'll love that flavor for the cheesecake bites, because it's S-T-R-O-N-G!

    This place has the BEST cheesecake. I discovered this years ago at Lunardi's Grocer. Now it isn't carried there but is at some Costco's. I haven't got any large cheesecakes because I would definitely eat the whole thing. I always go and get the poppers. I saw on Facebook that he was having pumpkin ones for the holiday season. I went and got a mini one for breakfast. The guy who owns it is a very nice person and great customer service! I love the crust too. It's like a sugar cookie. Some people like Cheesecake Factory but I think their cheesecakes are way too sweet. Other cheesecakes have a graham cracker crust which I always leave behind.

    Charlie's Cheesecake Works beats out Cheesecake Factory any day! I discovered this place by looking for a place specializing in cheesecake on yelp. Yelp led me to the right place! The place is pretty small, I thought it was going to be like a bakery type feel where you see cheesecakes in a display and pick whatever you want. It wasn't really like that, which made me kind of confused at first. Luckily, the guy working there was super friendly and helpful! He asked if I had ever been there, since it was my first time he let me try one of the cheesecake poppers! Man, were they delicious. I ended up buying the 12 pack cheesecake poppers and he gave me $1 off for mentioning yelp! I wanted an assortment of flavors before I bought an actual cheesecake next time. They have great customer service to fit their wonderful tasting cheesecakes! I think if I bought the 36 pack of poppers I would have killed the whole thing in a week! Their cheesecake is light, creamy and tastes like ice cream! There are so many flavors that I want to try all of them at once. I can't wait to buy one of their whole cheesecakes. There is a variety of tempting flavors to choose from. This place is awesome and highly recommended. The price for a cheesecake is worth it over a $40 cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.

    I have not been to the store but had actually come across the cheesecake poppers at a San Jose Costco in the frozen isle. I gotta tell you, they are simply AMAZINGLY delish!! I think their even better than the cheesecake factory in fact. The Costco poppers came in an assortment of 35 bite sized flavors including, Strawberry, vanilla, blueberry, chocolate, cappuccino, key lime and raspberry. My favorites were especially the Strawberry, Vanilla and Key lime which stood out the most. I HIGHLY recommend trying the cheesecake, especially since they you don't even have to order or take a separate trip and just grab some from the freezer (defrost for 15min at room temp) and do the rest of your shopping all in one place. I am most definitely going to visit the actual location so I can have them fresh. This is a MUST try!! Wow ;)

    A friend introduced me to Charlie's a few years ago during the holidays, and even thought I don't keep cheeseake readily available in the freezer (trouble!), whenever I crave it, I come here. The ck poppers are AMAZING! It's a box of 32 I believe for about 25 bucks or so and are worth every penny. My favorite one if the key lime. It's so light and creamy but not at the expense of being a bajillion calories. I do wonder how many cals each of these little suckers have though. Charlie, any insight???     We purchased a coupon for $9.50 for 2 dozen of the cheesecake poppers. When we came on a Saturday, Charlie was there and gave us a free sample before purchasing. They were really good fresh out of the freezer. We took the box to a Superbowl party and once they were left out for about 20 minutes, they weren't very good anymore. Serve frozen and they'll be like little ice cream treats. Would we go back? I'm not too sure we would. But it seems like our friends are all hooked, so Charlie will get some new business coming his way. :)

    I picked up my early 25th birthday Chocolate Turtle cheesecake yesterday. This year, I came with a bigger group. Charlie saw the people waiting outside and asked if they were with me. I told him they were and he told me they had to come inside because he had a math problem for us to solve. Then he said that if we got the math problem right, there'd be free cheesecake. Got it! Hooray, free poppers! The Chocolate Turtle cheesecake was awesome like the Chocolate Chip one was last year.     This little spot is simply awesome. I don't really like Cheesecakes, but man does this make me change my mind. I found this place just searching here on yelp, knowing that the wifey was looking for some desserts, so I came across this place. It's a bit a ways from where we live, but it's worth every drive of it, especially when you're craving some sweets and like cheesecake. Charlie is a cool guy who simply just loves his customers and just about anyone that walks it. He was so nice and helpful as soon as we walked in. When we walked in, Charlie asks if we have ever been there and my answer was no, so he replies back with "Well our first rule is try before you buy" and then he opens up the fridge and pulls out a few different kinds of cheesecakes for tasting. I usually like to try different things so I tried the key lime flavor, not knowing what key lime tastes like, it was a bit surprising to me as I didn't know what I was expecting other than the fact that it's going to be somewhat sour, and it was a little. Then after we were done tasting, he asks, "Where did you hear about this place?" Then I reply with a simple "Yelp" answer, then Charlie goes, "Great! So now you get the Yelp discount" the discount was a dollar off. Now with our discount, a great taste for cheesecake after having a sample, we ended up getting the 12 pack mini cheesecakes and boy was it was it satisfying. I LOVE THIS PLACE AND I WILL BE BACK! The nice owner asked if it was our first time and we said yes, he offered us free petite samples, I tried the key lime and my friend tried the original. Both were excellent, with a butter cookie crust, only on the bottom, not the sides. My key lime was good and tart. I love the fact you order the little petite cakes and order different flavors. Perfect for a party and to sample different flavors, a two bite size. They have seasonal flavors.

    Sooo good...especially when their cold from staright from the fridge. We had these for our monthly birthday party at work and a co-worker brought them in, it was perfect.     This 5 star rating is based solely on cheesecake. This is because my boyfriend was the one who went to the store and bought the cheesecake but he told me that Charlie was extremely friendly and since my boyfriend was a new customer Charlie had him sample a cheesecake bite first and then gave him a new customer discount- so it sounds pretty good. I love how they're just bite-size so they're not too much- oftentimes when you eat cheesecake it's such a huge slice that by the 3rd or 4th forkful you're already feeling full and kind of sick of the cheesecake (like you're continuing to eat it just cause it's there but not really tasting it anymore) but these bite-sized ones are PERFECT plus they're all different flavors so if you're tired of one flavor you can move on and try another flavor. If you buy them frozen though you have to really wait for them to thaw out and soften before eating them though- I got a little too excited and anxious and bit into a half-frozen one and it took away some of the magic HAHA- so yeah, really thaw them out first. The graham cracker base is just the perfect mix of crunchy and soft- all I can say is, it's totally worth trying- it is SO good.

    We found this place on yelp on a Sunday they are closed on Sundays!! We waited a week til Saturday after work, when we went in it was a hour before he closed shop. He was a very nice man, gave us a sample right when we walked in the door! Helped us build the party pack with the flavors that we wanted. They have great key lime, blueberry, and pumpkin!!! Omfg!!

    How can anyone not love them! I picked up 2 dozen poppers for a friend's party and enjoyed every flavour. (We shared bites just so we don't over-cheesecake ourselves!) They were smooth and creamy, but not heavy. The fruit flavoured ones tasted so fresh, not at all artificial. Personally I like the strawberry, chocolate and mocha the best. Charlie let me sample one while in store. Straight out of the freezer, it doubled as a frozen treat. Not that I am saying they aren't as good thawed. You can have them however you like.

    Oh Charlie!!! Your cheesecake poppers are really deeeelicous, especially for the price! Not only is he extremely friendly, his only rule there is that you have to try before you buy! Now that's how you run a business! He has vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, key lime, and cappuccino, which was my favorite. I wanted pumpkin but he doesn't start making them until august :( 6 poppers for $5.75 but if you tell him you found him through yelp he takes off $.75! So 6 for $5?! DONE DEAL! I'm happy fatty :)

    I'm going to have to give it 5 stars... I love cheesecake and would have it every week if I could, but then again, I would probably weight over 200lbs. (On my frame, that would be pretty big) I ordered their Raspberry Cheesecake and brought it into work for one of our celebrations. It was gone faster than you could say cheesecake... I could probably eat 3 slices in a row the stuff is so good and CREAMY ! ! ! They need a Peets Coffee next door! What a combo! I'd like to try all of their flavors, but then again...... I've got to control myself. The only downside is they are on the pricey side...(and a TON of calories) =) hmmm, I'll burn it off tomorrow... Don't buy a frozen one at the grocery store, trader joes or at cheesecake factory. If you want a 'real' cheesecake, get one from this place.

    I had a couple of poppers that my GF brought back from a baby shower. They were sitting in the fridge for a couple of days and I didn't think much about them. Man I wish I had eaten them sooner. These are the perfect bite-sized desserts!! First of all, I'm a huge fan of cheesecake. I have to give a shout out to the Red Velvet Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory!! Anyhow, I only had 6 of these poppers and they were absolutely amazing. Just a guess of what they were, here's what I had: Blueberry: Double YUM!! Cappuccino: Meh... Chocolate: Good.     Wow, I love cheesecakes, but this is even better then I expected! Little 100 calorie, bite-size goodness. Bought a box with 35 poppers (mention yelp and get it for slightly discounted, $22.50). Haven't tried all the flavors, but everyone so far is exceptional with its own distinct flavor that really stands out. You can really taste the vanilla, the mocha, raspberry, strawberry, etc. All the flavors are really fresh!

    So I have had a craving for cheesecake since Labor day when I was watching an episode of friends with my roommate (for friends fans out there, it's the one with the like 4-5 cheesecakes that Rachel and Chandler steal from their neighbor's doorstop). Anyways so I thought, I'm a grown man. I can go and buy a cheesecake, eat it and not feel guilty about it. ... Then I thought, but where? Yelp saves the day again. Problem is this place is closed Labor day and I would have to wait until Saturday to try to get here because I work in Redwood City and wouldn't be able to reach this place before it closes. Oh well ... but my friends can go for me :) Actually it was a birthday and they knew I was going to go to this place. So they went and from what I can tell, Charlie is the nicest guy. My friends got a cappuccino cheesecake and when they told Charlie it was my birthday he threw in some of the small 1 oz sizes to boot. It was pretty cool. So on top of the cake, there were samplers for key lime, peanut butter, raspberry and more. I was sort of caught off guard origininally by the crust. I am used to places like Juniors or way back home is Manny's, where they use graham crackers. Charlie's choice to use short bread was odd but at the same time brilliant. My mouth didn't feel dried out and it wasn't as heavy of a cake overall because of it. As you can probably imagine, craving fixed but doesn't mean it is not coming back again. I got my eye on the biscotti cheesecake next ;) Got to get some picks for this page too.

    This place is amazing! I haven't heard of this place until the CBS coupon came out, but definitely glad I gave it a try. The owner is extremely friendly and personable, offering samples and answering your questions patiently. I took home two trays of the cheesecake poppers, one for my sisters and one for my friend and all of them absolutely loved the poppers (I'm sure they'll visit this place on their own soon now). They're rich but not too heavy, and with the variety included in the pack, there's one to meet every taste bud. The poppers make a great gift or ending to your dinner. I plan on picking these little guys up every time I'm in the SJ area now. Keep up the good work, Charlie!

    Someone brought my dear friend Charlie's sampler plate and as soon as she told me about it, I had to try it for myself! Unfortunately, this revelation came at 5:45 PM and they closed at 6. Thinking they might be open later due to the holidays, I called and was happily taken aback when Charlie himself picked up the phone! I told him I would love to try his place out, but he said he was supposed to close at 6. I asked if there was annnyy way he would possibly stay open and he said he would be there until 6. Fast forward as I'm driving very fast down 280. Traffic gods frowned on me and I called Charlie to let him know I wouldn't make it. He asked where my friends were coming from and after hearing they trekked from Oakland, he said a baker would happily let us in! We made it by 6:30 and Irine was a doll. She let us sample (but we were shy and only tried about one per person, there was 3 of us) and of course I had to buy 2 twelve-packs for myself! Key lime, original and cappucino mini cheesecakes? Yum! There is also a Yelp discount so be sure to mention that! Great people and really yummy cheesecakes. Worth a speeding ticket, but don't wait until the last minute to answer to your cheesecake cravings!

    Okay, first of all, I'm not a big cheesecake fan. HOWEVER, this was as good as it gets, like the rating states. The cheesecake poppers were amazing because they were bite-sized and not too filling. Additionally, the owner (I'm assuming) is such a sweet guy! My sister and I came in and he asked us if we've been here before. After replying, "no", he asked me where I found this place at. I responded with "yelp" and he told me because I mentioned yelp, I get $1 off my total AND that I get to try it before I buy it. How much better can it get?! I liked my raspberry one I tried and my sister liked her strawberry one. We ended up buying 12 poppers and he was so nice enough to let us switch out flavors we didn't want; we ended up getting about like 5 strawberry ones, 3 raspberry ones, 3 original ones, and a chocolate one. We have yet to finish it probably tonight or tomorrow..

    Charlie did it again LOL! I ordered two Silicon Valley Classic (plain) cheesecakes this past weekend for my husband's bday... those who ate it, loved every bite. This was my second time ordering from CCW's and I'll definitely order again in the future. The plain cheesecake is smooth, not too rich, too sweet or tart. I have sampled all of his cheesecake poppers too, they are YUMMMMMMMY! If you've only had cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, or from the grocery store you're missing out! His strawberry cheesecake is delish, however I like to order the classic plain and put fresh strawberries and glaze on top. Charlie is a friendly gentleman too. When you go into his store, you feel like you are at a friend's house sampling a dish they cooked rather than making a transaction at a local business. Thank you, Charlie!

Man, I give him props because he comes down all the way from Fremont to pick up these delicious cheesecakes! Anyways, I had no idea where this place was until this past weekend when my dbf and I drove down to pick up a box of poppers for family party. It's quite a drive from North San Jose, imagine coming from Fremont like my friend Arnold D. But I can see why, these are so worth the drive!!     I visited Charlie's based on all of the yelp reviews (thanks Yelpers) ... and am so glad I did! Was looking for a Key Lime Pie dessert for a party - they make them in popper size as well as regular cheesecake. Charlie, as everyone says, is a wonderful host when you visit his store, and provided a sample of the key lime poppoer before I bought. I am not really a cheescake fan, but these were so good - I bought the party pack and everyone who had them loved them. Key lime seemed to be the favorite, but I also served the vanilla/regular poppers and put fresh raspberries on top - they went fast (and were my favorites). Only downside: wish the location was closer - but that won't stop me from return visits!

    2 and 1/2 star worthy. Came home craving something sweet and what do i see but a box of Charlies Cheesecake bites on the counter. Ive read the Yelp reviews and have heard they were good so was excited to try. Original- Decent, had a hint of a lemony flavor to it but good. Key Lime-Tasted like a fake lemony lollipop i was not happy with it. Chocolate- Took one bite and didnt want to even pop the rest in my mouth. Strawberry- Tasted like the original but with some strawberry jam mixed into it. Was alright Cappuccino- Good light cappuccino flavor would definitely keep eating this one. If these were on the counter i would pick out the cappuccino one but wouldnt go out of my way at all to pick these up.

    We were looking for a cupcake place for dessert, but couldn't resist the 101 5 star rating for Charlie's Cheesecake Works. We arrived at exactly 6pm. Their closing time is 6pm, but we saw a man inside mopping that let us in. He even gave us samples to try. I like my cheesecake at room temperature, but it still tasted great chilled. The wife wasn't a big fan of the cheesecake and only ate half of the sample. I ordered a 12 pack of their vanilla that is not too sweet, not too big, and don't seem to last too long because my wife finally decided she wanted to try it again and again and again. Now I have to try to make it down there before they close today to buy more for the weekend. Cons: - closes too early on weekdays Pros: - Owner is very friendly - Cheesecake is really yummy - At room temperature it's like biting into a cloud Conclusion: - I have just found my new goto place for potlucks and after dinner indulgence.

    Came here 5 minutes before closing and Charlie was sweet enough to accomodate our group with a free sample each (although we did have to answer a math question to get it) and let us choose flavors for our 12-popper set ($9.50 for 12). Usually they come prepackaged, but out of the flavors they had I liked amaretto, cappucino, coffee, and blueberry the rest so he custom-packaged it for us (he did seem a lil grumpy about having to do it, but I can understand why. He has to go into the freezer to pull out the different flavors. Thanks Charlie)! The cheesecakes are really yummy and not too sweet! I like that they come bite-sized so you can limit your indulgences and that there are so many flavors to choose from. I don't usually like cheesecake that much so it's nice to have an assortment of flavors that mask the cream chees-iness. They also sell full-size cheesecakes, 6-pack poppers, 12-pack poppers, or a 35-pack. And they even sell them the 35-pack at the Almaden Costco for about 6 bucks cheaper than in store! These are for sure a crowd pleaser. I'll be back to buy them for group events!!

    I adore cheesecake. I've been meaning to try the cheesecake from Charlie for ages. I finally got the chance and MY OH MY, YUMMMMMMY! I got a box of the Cheesecake Poppers for a party. They were perfect! Smooth and creamy with a delicious shortbread crust. I couldn't stop at just one. Nooooo. I had to try them all. My favorite is the mocha one.     Wow, I nearly forgot to review this place! I bought two twelve packs for Valentine's treats, so that was quite some time ago. Not to say that I wasn't a satisfied customer. On the contrary, Charlie's Cheesecake Poppers were pretty good. And I say this as someone who is pretty darn picky about cheesecake and mainly likes it homemade by my mama! In terms of sweet to tart ratio, the cheesecake here is more on the sweet side, which I enjoyed. It's also worth noting that they're amazing right out of the freezer, but not so much when thawed. The flavors I enjoyed most were the blueberry and coffee varieties. Anyway, I didn't experience any of the super duper amazing service ya'll are raving about. For example, the "try it before you buy it" line, but he was a pleasant enough guy. Until I start baking my own cheesecakes (and I am an avid baker) for friends and family, I'm sure I'll return for more Poppers.

    I went here for the first time a few years ago to get a cheesecake for the CC lover in my family, and was just impressed with the place. It's one of those shops that quietly exists in San Jose forever, and you don't know about it so when you find it, you are like "where did this place come from?", and you feel all out of the loop cause you didn't know it'd been around for like 10yrs or more. Perhaps its location, in a part of san jose that I rarely go to, but i just didn't know it existed until I searched online for cheesecakes one year. They definitely have a HUGE gigantic selection and everything is super fresh. I am not a big CC fan, so I will withhold my complete comments - but the person who ate the cake it was intended for said it was really delicious. I'd recommend this place for sure if you are looking for something unique and novel. Good stuff !! props to local business owners!! Also - way way better than cheesecake factory!!! WAY BETTER !!!

    These little bite size flavors of joy always bring a smile to my face. Last year, a friend dropped them off at my office knowing that I LOVE sweets. It was a box of assorted flavor. It was divine!!! It wasn't too rich. Who knew so much flavor could be packed into a small, mini muffin sized cheesecake? This year, I had a friend who lives nearby Charlie's bring me a box.     There went my diet. But each 100 calorie popper (120 for non-vanilla flavored, but who's counting calories?) was worth every bite. Charlie knows how to make cheesecake poppers. The shortbread crust is just right, and the delicious, homemade flavors are divine! I purchased a dozen of the poppers, and all of them were delicious, but the chocolate and vanilla were my favorites. The owner is super kind and it was an overall pleasant experience. These did not last long. Since they can stay frozen for a few months in the freezer, I say stock up on a few dozen and pop one in now and then for a nice little treat. Then go jogging. Repeat again and again.

    Finally dropped by this place today....i have been wanting to try this place for a bit. We walked in...and the guy at the counter was So nice! He made some small talk with us and joked around with my daughter about some math and if she could get the right anwser he will give her a cheesecake popper of her choice :) He then let me sample one and between the great customer service we got and the poppers were SO yummy (I had the blueberry one and my daughter had the chocolate), we ended up buying a 12 pack! Needless to say, the fam was VERY happy when I showed up home with these! I will be back to buy more when I am having some sort of get together or party!

    Wow. This place was totally unexpected!! My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary after finding the great reviews of this place on yelp. The plaza was a nice and homey, with lots of dessert shops around. As soon as we walked in, you're right inside an actual bakery. With giant mixers and everything. I was so confused. WHERE was the cheesecakes?!!? I suppose we looked confused, and that's when Charlie helped us out. He asked us how we found the place, Yelp of course, and if we'd ever tried their cheesecakes.. Apparently the rule there is "YOU GOTTA TRY IT BEFORE YOU BUY IT". Best rule ever! I tried the cappucino one, the bf tried strawberry. The perfect amount of flavor, and OH so creamy!! I bought a dozen on the spot. And now I only have 2 left. =( Can't wait to go back. PLUS he gave us the yelp discount, $1 off! Score. So worth it! Thanks, Charlie!

    "hmm mini cheesecake poppers or whole cheesecake?" I asked myself walking in to Charlie's. "I'll go with the bite-size ones. They're so cool, and since they're bite-sized I won't eat so much at one time." Yeah.......which part of that logic do you think epically failed? So I bought a box of the poppers, a box of 12 to be exact. They were cool little morsels in a plastic box that were looked like they should've been in some much fancier form of transport. Does that mean they're a good value? No, you can get a whole cheesecake for the same price as these puppies, BUT at high-end bakeries, they would probably charge double the price. So how did they taste? Great! I can eat a lot of cheesecake, but it get's tiring and heavy after 2 or 3 slices. These little pieces were perfect for satisfying the craving without slowing me down...except for when I decided that 2 wasn't enough and devoured half the box (inner fat kid strikes again). All the flavors were just right, fillings weren't too sweet to overpower the cheese and it wasn't overbearingly cheesy. The mini-crust, which is usually my favorite part of cheesecake, is also great. This place is great for snacking and for gifts. It's definitely the perfect thing to brighten up someone's day or knock out your cravings.

    The owner was sweet enough to wait for me to get after closing (given that i exited, almaden has ridiculous amount of traffic to travel not very far ...) I love the poppers, they are a great size, and comes in a variety of DELICIOUS flavors. every flavor has enough real fruit, explosion of flavor that you can distinctly distinguish one another. The poppers are a great portion size, you won't feel so guilty eating a popper or two compared to a slice of densely fattening Cheesecake Factory slice, that are like $5 for a slice *yikes* The prices are very reasonable, and the best part is you can freeze it and thaw it out when you need to eat it!

    I LOVE cheesecake, and I LOVE miniature-sized food! Which makes Charlie's cheesecake poppers my ideal dessert. I heard about Charlie's through one of those deal-a-day websites. After adding on a $5 off coupon to the original deal, I ended up paying $7 for two dozen assorted poppers. The regular price IS a little steep and I might never have tried them if I had to pay full price. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the store was empty. Charlie was very friendly and sweet and offered me a free popper because it was my first visit. I initially thought I could pick and choose which flavors I wanted for my two dozen poppers, but they were pre-packaged. I found that all of the berry flavors (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry) tasted similar but were all really good. Vanilla was kind of bland and chocolate was very good. Word of warning: the key lime flavor is HORRIBLE. It tastes suuuuper duper artificial and I kind of felt like I was eating dishwasher detergent. Another reason why I'm not giving five stars is because the crust on the poppers weren't graham cracker (which I think is absolutely mandatory) but more like a doughy shortbread. I noticed on the website that ALL cheesecakes use this shortbread crust, which is very disappointing. I find that these poppers taste best about 10 minutes out of the freezer, when they're still firm but not rock-hard. At room temperature, they become too soft for my liking. Overall, I'm happy with the discovery of this gem in SJ, and once I am able to accept non-graham-cracker-crust cheesecakes in my life with open arms, I'll be coming back!

    Charlie you are da'man! You make great cheesecakes. I don't even like cheesecake, but my husband does, so I got one for his birthday - blueberry. He loved it, and surprisingly I loved it too. Their menu of cheesecakes is 3 pages long. Be advised, you need to give them 2 days notice at least for a special request. I don't bake so I didn't realize that the cheesecakes need at least 24 hours to set and so I didn't have enough time to get a non-traditional flavor, but I was able to get one of the flavors of the day, which thankfully included blueberry. This shop is generous with their samples, and if you mention Yelp you get a discount to boot :)

    My friend is the one who found this place and after seeing her pictures on facebook, I was intrigued. One particular day, I was just having the worst luck and crappiest day, when she gave me a bambino (4oz. cheesecake) to cheer me up. It was the most delicious cheesecake I've ever eaten. Where regular cheesecakes are very thick and make you feel heavy afterwards, Charlie's cheesecakes are so soft and light but yet just as flavorful. My bf and I ordered our own box of the mini poppers (1oz. bite size cheesecakes) in 6 different flavors. They were all so goood! This place is a must try if you like cheesecake and even if you don't like cheesecake because the all natural cream cheese they use makes a big difference. I've once heard someone describe it as "ice cream and cheesecake mixed in your mouth" - I couldn't have said it better. Just so delicious! A nice service they provide is being able to order your cheesecakes over the internet and schedule our own pick up. They can also deliver via FedEx. If you go in to pick up, you can bring in a coupon that they have online for a free sample of a 4oz. bambino. The nice man working there also gives you a try of your choice of a frozen bite size cheesecake so you know what a frozen one tastes like to decide how you want to serve it. It was all just a pleasant experience and I definitely will be going back for more. They offer so many different flavors it's tempting to want to try them all! Not to mention they offer Holiday flavors as well! My favorite is strawberry :)

My wedding anniversary was coming up and my husband is a huge fan of cheesecakes so whats a better way to surprise him? I got the party pack (and yes a I mentioned that I seen it on Yelp and got my discount) I also brought in a coupon for a free bambino cheesecake (from their website). I was amazed when Charlie just took a popper from out of the freezer and had me sample one, I said - This was in the freezer? It was soft as if it was just refrigerated! I like that there isn't a lot of crust on the poppers. Its a small bit of shortbread crust. But I don't eat cheesecake crusts all I want is the cheesecake. I came all the way from Fremont to go to this 1 particular store. Its real small and in a small strip mall. (Lucky for me I have my TomTom so I wont get lost) Very good cheesecakes, friendly service and love the free samples. Will be coming back in the near future. Love that its a mom and pop joint.

    What an awesome find. My fiancé and I went in (based on yelp reviews) tried a couple cheesecake poppers (on the house via Charley) and our jaws dropped. Super delicious cheesecake! We bought a 9 pack and were thinking of possibly using them as wedding favors. Also, Charlie is super friendly and extremely welcoming. Make sure u mention u found him on yelp! The ONLY downer- I wasn't a fan of a lot of the flavors. When you buy the variety pack, you have to get an assortment (obviously). Still fun to try the different ones though...

    Well. If you ever doubted that there'd be a most perfect bite of cheesecake that wouldn't make your stomach double over in gut-bombage from all that sugar, butter, and cream, then order an assorted pack of poppers and get to bliss asap. Actually, negate that. You'd probably still eat all 12 assorted flavors resulting in one humongous slice of cheesecake so forget it. Let yourself indulge in these wonderful bites of heaven and workout tomorrow. Charlie was there to offer us our free samples with which he added, "You can't buy one 'till you try one." There's an awesome tag-line right there. Also he sells the cutest...or coolest...insulated reusable bags for only 2 bucks. You'd be a fool not to get one. He ALSO gives it up for Yelp, and just by mentioning it he'll give a discount. When love is spread for us Yelpers that's when I know I'll be coming back. My only ONE little wish is that there was a thicker crust. But nevertheless, the total family business appeal, customized service, and homemade freshness makes Charlie's a solid 5 stars.

    3.5-4 After reading about how great Charlie's Cheesecake Works appeared to be, I admittedly came in with higher than normal expectations. Charlie came out to greet us, and that was all well and good, but then he seemed irritated that we wouldn't buy the 12 pack. Mind you, I probably would have if I weren't road tripping down to Socal the next day, with no feasible way of eating 12 poppers or any means of keeping them cool. All in all, I'd come back for the Strawberry, Vanilla, and Key Lime. The other flavors (and the service) were slight let downs.

    I decided to try some time ago with a girl friend. It's a small store front, and they're really friendly. I got to sample the caramel popper, which was delicious. I wish there was a thicker crust that was out of graham cracker... I know everybody says it is, but people... graham crackers aren't white. It seems that they make theirs out of shortbread? My friend and I split a party pack. Most of the flavors were good. The only one I didn't like was the key lime; it seemed really artificial to me. Anyways, this yelp discount for the party pack isn't so much of a discount if you have a Costco membership. The Costco nearby sells it for like $19.

    Charlie is unbelievably nice and his cheesecakes are to die for!! I went here about a month ago frantic to find some delish cheesecakes for my friend's bday cuz hes got a major sweet tooth & i wanted to bring him something new and surprising. I found Charlie on yelp. I called Charlie and told him I was coming and he was closing around 5 or 6 on that Saturday and I told him I was coming from Union City. He waited half an hour after closing for me & gave me directions when I got lost. Very kind, very patient man! He was so sweet & still offered me a free popper.. & what can I say.. YUM. I bought a pack of poppers for the dinner I was going to, and gave it to my friends for dessert & omg they all loved it. It was just so melt in your mouth delicious.     Yelp has been able to connect me with many great places I didnt know exist including Charlie's! This place has been opened for 7 years in Almaden and I finally got to check it out. Right when we walked in, we were greeted with smile and sample of cheesecake poppers. The poppers are bite size cheesecakes that comes in a variety of different flavors. We ended up gettin a 12 pack that comes preassorted with chocolate, rasberry, blueberry, cappucino, plain, and I think maybe one or two others I dont remember. My favorite is probably the chocolate since its not too tart tasting like the berry flavors. I really liked their thin shortbread crust so I will come back for more of their non popper cheesecakes. This place is good but my heart still belongs The Confectional in Seattle

    Yes I agree - you could describe this place as heaven! This is the best cheese cake store I have ever tried, and believe me i have tried many, which is why I am hearing leaving a review on Yelp! Very friendly people who go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. They even offer next day delivery so if getting ready for your event is making you too busy to even breathe then they have you covered! On Casual Friday's I usually bring in a dozen of the mix and although a great sampler always disappears too fast! We have very hungry people at our office! My favorite is the Raspberry White Chocolate - it just melts in your mouth! Delicious! If you haven't tried Charlie's Key Lime pie then I suggest you do - it's even better than the ones I had in Key West! Thumbs up and the best cheese cake ever!!!!!!!!!!!

    I came here to buy some cheesecake for my mother in law's birthday. It was 5:30ish and it was prime-time rush hour so I was really frantic that I'd not make it in time for their 6pm closing. Luckily, I made it there around 5:50pm! I told Charlie that I was scared that I wouldn't have made it and he said that I should call and let him know that I'm on my way as he is usually still in the shop well after closing. Isn't he sweet? Well, being a new customer he let me try the raspberry cheesecake which I enjoyed. I think it tasted good frozen but would taste way better had he let me sample it non-frozen. I have sensitive teeth :) Anyway, I got a 9" raspberry cheesecake and the 12 minis as a sampler. I really enjoyed them all! It was especially good after I tried it thawed. Duh, it should already be thawed but I didn't have enough time to let it sit out. One thing I wish is that the crust was more crusty :) More of a crust I guess because I love cheesecake crusts! Anyhoots, Charlie's Cheesecake Works is a fine establishment for an alternative to your regular cheesecake fix. It is worth the time and money to try! Plus, you get to meet Charlie who's super sweet!     A real jewel on Redmond Avenue! I have never really walked around the place where it was located until I found this place on Yelp. I figured I;d just give it a shot since it's really close to me. I wasn't really expecting much. I was so wrong! I walked in and was greeted like a friend there. The people had such welcoming smiles! You can try a free popper if you answer a math question correctly. Now, usually I'm not a fan of cheesecakes at ALL, but these are soo good!     I was trying to search for a nice bakery that served cheesecake around my house so i Googled "cheesecake bakery" and found this place on yelp. I live in Milpitas so it's like a 20-25 minute drive from my house but the trip was way worth it. So my friend and I went there last night and their policy was "you have to try it before you buy it" so we both thought "score!" We tried the amaretto cheesecake popper and a strawberry popper and all I could think was "holy crap...i need to buy these cheesecakes now" so my friend and i split the 35 cheesecake popper box. Never again will a crave a cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory because Charlie's Cheesecake Works is effin' legit. Alright...time to finish off the box of cheesecake poppers.

    my cousin and i were yelping for a good dessert spot. we came across charlie's cheesecake works and we were like " wow! 5 stars we have to try it" . the reviews were also a great help too. the owner was super friendly. he had my little cousin do a math problem, funny man i must say.he then gave us free samples. of course we walked out with a few boxes of cheesecake poppers. they are totally delicious. i must say that this will not be my last time coming. i will be placing orders for gifts real soon. you have to try it!=)

    Finally got to try Charlie's cheesecakes out and they are superb! After weeks of contemplating of driving all the way over here, I decided to give it a try during my lunch break at work since it is a lot closer to work than home. Charlie was super nice and has this rule that you have to sample a cheesecake (for free, of course!!) if it's your first time there! He also gives you a small discount if you mention that you heard about the place through Yelp! If you live in the area or are willing to go out of your way for cheesecake, this is the place to go! I sure wish I lived closer, but if I did I'd probably be here every other day haha!

    I'm a cheesecake freakazoid. With that said, I always relied on the Cheesecake Factory because I can't just find another place in the Bay Area that serves decent cheesecake...until now! The Cheesecake Poppers are out of this world! It's like being able to sample different cheesecakes all in one sitting, rather than just being stuck with one slice. You can truly taste the rich flavor and the use of real cream cheese, not to mention the Shortbread crust! MMM...I love me some Shortbread! But apparently not all of the cheesecakes feature that, which is okay by me. You can pop the whole popper in your mouth but, why rush the indulgence? Savor it...little by little. It's sheer heaven! Got to talking with Charlie really brief and definitely felt the warm and fuzzies from him. It's like you can tell that lots of love and care were put into every little cheesecake in that shop! Driving back home to Fremont, I realized...on the way to CCW I passed up two Cheesecake Factory locations. Well...I think my heart and my stomach has found a new home to get my cheesecake fix on. Hope Charlie doesn't get sick of seeing me too often! ;)

    I drove about 20 min to get here so I had pretty high expectations when I arrived.. and let me say I was NOT disappointed. Right as I got to the counter I was suddenly overwhelmed. I was so excited that I was going to Charlie's that I didn't really figure out what it was that I wanted to get there. I mentioned that I read about them on Yelp and sampled a vanilla cheesecake popper and it was everything I was hoping it would be. Soft, sweet, DELICIOUS!! It's been a while since I've had some really good cheesecake so it was a great experience. Right then I knew I wanted to take home a 12 pack of the poppers and try out their different cheesecakes. I noticed they had key lime and I was craving it for a while, but unfortunately they didn't have any more of the bambinos (the personal cheesecakes) of it =/ No stars off for that though!! I'm sure they're in demand and I'm just going to have to put in an order in advance to try it next time! I'm definitely coming back for a full cheesecake when I return. I really liked the original more than anything but I'm intrigued about all the other options they have. I'll have to try everything on the menu! (no.. im not kidding)

    Holy moly, these cheesecakes are magnifico! What magical ingredients are in Charlie's cheesecakes?? My bf got a strawberry cheesecake for my birthday and everyone gobbled up their piece. We are very caring people but there was no sharing with significant others whatsoever. Cheesecake isn't even my first choice in cakes, but this one was so lip smacking good. Apparently Charlie makes his own cream cheese which make these so delightful and so darn yummy. It was light, with the perfect hint of strawberry. This is the first time cheesecake really melted in my mouth. I'm so glad I was the bday girl so I didn't feel bad helping myself to another piece and taking the few slices remaining back home with me. The "Happy Birthday" written on the top wasn't the most visually appealing but the taste of the chocolate more than made up for it. I can't ever say I enjoyed eating the writing on the cake til now. I really want to go back and try the cheesecake poppers that everyone's raving about.

    My family came here to buy a pack of the famous cheesecake poppers for a pot luck that day. Charlie was right in the middle of giving a lady some latex gloves to go with her cheesecakes when she turned around and exclaimed, "Charlie's the best!" That he is.     Here's another five star review for Charlie's Cheesecake Works to add to their collection! I've lived nearby this little shop for a very long time now and only recently decided to stop in. Even reading all these great reviews and having my mom tell me how great this place is, I just never made the time. So why did I finally go in after all this time? It was the giant GLUTEN FREE sign out front! I have a slight aversion to gluten products. I love them but they don't love me. I still indulge on occasion, but gluten free is my friend. So imagine my delight when I saw this sign. Anyhow, the service is welcoming and friendly. I got to try a little cheesecake popper and it was sweet, silky and delicious. I scurried out with a bunch of mini cheesecake popper samplers. And every single flavor is delicious! So many flavors are offered and you can have them make something from their flavor list if they don't have it at the ready. The gluten free is not really different from the regular in taste, and the texture is only slightly different but still just as enjoyable. And a bonus about the gluten-free cheesecake: The are also sugar-free (sweetened with agave nectar), so if you have special glycemic needs, these gluten-free, sugar-free cheesecakes are for you! There's also an offering of gluten-free bakery goods and mixes and some pastas from a local gourmet gluten-free bakery called Iamori that you can buy. This is a wonderful, independent shop that puts a lot of care and consideration into their products. I look forward to supporting them for many years to come!

    Me and my husband found this cheesecake place after we went to the park nearby but it was closed (sunday). We finally came back today.     Oh this place is good. Super good. They offer a nice selection of pre-packed cheesecake poppers and i have yet to find a popper that i don't love! My favorite, of course, is their Pumpkin cheesecake... but that might just be offered seasonally. The poppers are a good size, nice and small so it feels like i'm not ingesting TOO MANY calories. Haha. =P Their cheesecake crust is different than the usual graham cracker crust...it appears to be made out of some sort of shortbread cookie.. different but GOOOD!     Tried a couple of their cheesecake poppers at the Asian American Film Festival San Jose Opening Gala and I was immediately hooked. These bite size cheesecakes are ingenious invention. They are so perfect for any parties or potlucks. Good portion, easy to eat and you get to try as many flavors as you want (until it runs out)! I had the strawberry and the caramel ones and they were both delicious. The texture is a little bit on light side and not as smooth and dense as I would like. I might pick up a dozen of these for my next party.

    I have a love-hate relationship with Almaden Valley. I spent my high school years yearning to get away from this idyllic suburb, and having since made my exodus, I've had no desire to return --- that is, until I read about Charlie's Cheesecake Works. I took the trip down memory lane (aka Almaden Expressway) and found the store in that nondescript strip mall at the intersection of Redmond Ave. I was expecting an actual storefront with glass cases displaying beautiful cheesecakes and was surprised to find what was essentially a live bakery, just people working and making the cheesecakes. I asked for the poppers and was given a choice of 12 or 36 (or 35?); kind of disappointed I couldn't buy a 6 pack but no biggie. The girl who helped me asked me how I had heard about their place and when I mentioned Yelp, I got a discount (paid $8.50) and was given a sample of the raspberry popper. Mmm, the popper was great! Like someone mentioned, it was akin to biting into a cool cloud. The raspberry flavor was perfect; not too strong like a mouthful of jam and not too cheesy. The flavors that came in the box were 2 vanilla, 2 raspberry, 2 chocolate, 2 strawberry, 1 almond (I think?), 1 blueberry, 1 key lime, and 1 coffee. Yum! I too agree with other reviewers that the crust is a bit thin and would love to have a thicker graham cracker crust, though that could just be personal opinion. All in all, delicious cheesecake bites and friendly service, but as with anything located in Almaden, it's a bit of a trek from just about everywhere else.

    I found out about this place when co-workers would bring this delectable treat for our dept potlucks... thank god they did.. its soo delicious and the size is just perfect for that cheesecake fix. I came here yesterday to get a party pack for my cousin/goddaughters 4th bday. On my way there I thought I had passed up the little store because I had been driving on Almaden for quite awhile. Then off in the distance.. i see Redmond Ave. FINALLY! haha... made my way into the shop and a nice gentleman helped me... told him I was there to purchase the party pack.     3.5 stars. Yelp has made me realize that I may have deviant taste in food...but anyhow, Charlie's Cheesecake was pretty good. Yann Y, my mother, and my non-Yelping friend all seemed to think the same, but no one went crazy from cheesecake ecstasy or anything. What I really did appreciate most of all was: 1) The service. Charlie is soooo sweet! He gave me a sample popper and $1 off for mentioning Yelp, with no pressure to even buy cheesecake. But I drove 25 min to get there so you bet I was gonna bring home some cheesecake. 2) The sampler! What a marvelous thing. We all know that variety is the spice of life, and in my 12-cheesecake-popper sampler ($8.50 after the discount), there were 8 different flavors of cheesecake! Yumyum. My favorites were raspberry, chocolate, chocolate chip, and almond (I think it was almond). As for the cheesecake, one of my tips is to let it soften a bit first before eating...but not too much of course. The cheesecake is tasty, dense, and not too sweet. Yes, definitely better than Cheesecake Factory where you pay $8 for a slice and get a fist-sized ball of whipped cream. My ideal cheesecake, however, is this Japanese variety, which is very very light in taste and as soft as a pillow--so soft, in fact, that it almost crumbles apart at the poke of a fork. Oh and Whole Foods cheesecake...and Sara Lee in (Cherry or Strawberry). Enough rambling now. All-in-all, Charlie's Cheesecake makes for a lovely pick-me-up in the middle of the day.

    This place is an awesome find! Got the 12 pack poppers before even trying anything, haha. Charlie (the super friendly owner) let us try a popper anyways and it was awesome. Tried the blueberry one and it was not overly sweet like it looked! If you like multiple flavor choices, the poppers are a good mix of choice vs indulgence. I prefer these over eating one giant flavored cheesecake. Oh yeah he also asked how I found out about the place and I mentioned Yelp, which got me a $1 discount. Would not have known otherwise. Also they use Square now. Tip: I think they are meant to be kept in the freezer(?) Keeping it in the fridge made the poppers abit soft, but still delicious. :)

    I decided to surprise my bf with a sweet surprise one day since I know how much he loves cheesecake! I went on their website to check out a menu and found out that you can also place orders online. So I ordered a dozen assorted cheesecake poppers. I was also able to print a coupon for one free mini cheesecake with any $5 purchase online. Charlie's Cheesecake is located in a really old shopping center and the place was actually smaller than I imagined. I was picturing a full on bakery, but this place is more modest. Once you walk in there is basically only a few feet between the front door and the counter where you order/pick up your order. The day I went in, Charlie wasn't there but two friendly workers were there to greet me and help me with my order. I told one of the girls that I had ordered online, but she told me that their website/email wasn't working so they didn't get my order. But it didn't matter since they have a lot of the poppers in stock. Another thing I wasn't expecting was for the cheesecake poppers to be frozen. When the girl was filling my order all she did was pull a small box out of the freezer behind her. I also handed her my coupon for a free mini cheesecake and decided to get the chocolate cheesecake as my free mini cheesecake. The sticker on the front of the box says you're supposed to keep them in the freezer for storage. The bf ate the cheesecake poppers right out of the freezer and also after they thawed and he liked them more when they were thawed. I only tried the strawberry popper after it was thawed and I thought they were pretty good. I like how they are bite size so that they are easy to eat and you can also try a bunch of the flavors since you don't feel as guilty for eating such a small piece. The cheesecake poppers also have a creamy rich consistency after they have been thawed. YUM! The bf and his sister LOVED the poppers. Mission accomplished! These would be great for parties!

    My boyfriend loves cheesecakes so I searched cheesecakes on Yelp and this place came up. With so many awesome reviews I decided to take the boyfriend here today. We went around 4:30 and no one was there. Walked in and got service immediately. The guy was SUPER nice and funny I felt immediately at ease. He let us try two of the poppers I got the chocolate the BF got strawberry. The chocolate one was great and my BF loved the strawberry. We decided to get the box of 12 that comes with an assortment of flavors like key lime, strawberry, chocolate, original, raspberry, blueberry, cappucino. He asked how we heard of the place we told him yelp and he gave us a $1 off! He gave us a menu & a magnet and the menu had some awesome sounding cheesecakes in it. The poppers are perfect for a party/bbq/family dinner, etc.. We will definitely come back. The 5 star rating is well deserved here.

    Charlie's cheese cakes a are absolutely delicious and the owner, Charlie, is as sweet as can be. When picking up a box of party poppers (key lime is my fav) he asked my friend "Are you under 25? - Because if you are then you can answer a math question and get a free popper." My friend an I are 23 - so we eagerly took the opportunity to win a free popper. Since we are a year or two out of college and not "math" people we were naturally struggling with the easy question. Charlie was a pal and helped us through it then ended up giving us a popper anyways. Be all end all - purchasing these little cheese cakes from Charlie was a delightful experience & they were a hit at the party. Keep them in the freezer but 2 minutes before serving take them out. I love when they are extra cold. Go support your neighborhood cheesecake chef! He is a treat himself!

    Small mom and pop with great service and yummy cheesecake. I ordered several nibbler variety packs for the sister site of my agency in San Jose and apparently, the staff loved it. We had Cheesecake Factory at our site and that was kind of a disaster if you read my review for the Palo Alto location. Plus, I wouldn't be able to help cut them in the San Jose site, cuz I was stuck in Palo Alto (damn work!) etc, so I ordered enough for all the San Jose staff to have 2-3 mini cheesecake bites. Of course, I had to print out their coupon for a small bambino sized one for myself. Very tasty, with a shortbread crust instead of graham cracker. I think their cheesecake was very good, but I still love the banana cream cheesecake from Cheesecake factory the best. Charlie's is the bomb though. My boss picked it up to take it to the other site and she said they were ready on time and perfect when the staff ate them. yeay for Charlie's! Perfect for a party or work event!

    Friend bought a box for my birthday. I really love having different flavors and variety for my food. The box isn't very decorated, just a cardboard box with a logo. I enjoyed all of their flavors, but still liked original the best. The cheesecake is very rich, even for a small bite. The cool thing is that they don't have a regular graham cracker crust on the bottom, instead a consistency of a cookie-like bottom.     What do you do when someone wants cheesecake? You try and get it for them! The only place that I know of was Cheesecake Factory.Hmm...time to yelp it. It directed me to Charlies. Why not try it out? They have all different flavors called bambinos. What could be more perfect then a selection of mini cheesecakes. Hmm...got the strawberry, marble chocolate, chocolate, and amaretto. All four were delicious, but didn't have the oreo or cookie crust that Cheesecake Factory offers. :)

    My wife received a free cheesecake gift certificate so we stopped by right at 6. We were greeted by Charlie who is just about the nicest guy you will meet. When he saw my 2 sons (10 and 7) he said that if you solve a math problem you get a cheesecake bite.5 minutes later they had earned the cheesecake sample and had a painless math lesson. Huge points so far and then we all tasted our sample. Incredible, smooth texture, creamy taste, and with a full flavor burst in your mouth. Used the certificate for a full cheesecake and bought the 35 piece pack in addition.

    I walked in a little after 5PM on a Saturday and I was scared they wouldn't serve me, I was a little frantic since I was planning on getting some cheesecakes for my friend's bday. Charlie was more than accommodating! He asked me if I was a first time customer and I said yes. He told me that it's a rule here that "you have to try before you buy", so I tried the key lime and my friend tried the chocolate. I love all the flavors! I also heard that there's a pumpkin flavor, don't know if that's true, but I guess I'll have to go back and check!

I was so pleasantly surprised to hear that kind of an answer because most people in San Jose are in such a hurry.     A little bit out of the way for a drive, but hey, I've never seen 5 stars on yelp for so many reviews, so I HAD TO try this place. They are known for their cheesecake poppers, which are pretty much little cheesecake cupcakes. I'm not sure if it's the idea of having a cheesecake in a cupcake that makes it so delicious, or is it the cheesecake flavors and taste themselves. EITHER WAY, it was delicious!! So their rule: You can't buy it unless you taste it. hahaha, NICE. I wish it was like that everywhere we went. Charlie was a nice friendly man, and it felt so home-y in there. And he gave us a $1 off for mentioning Yelp. We got two packs of 12 poppers to bring home, and one pack of 6 to try on the spot. It was so delicious, right out of the freezer! My favorites were the strawberry, vanilla, caramel, and chocolate. But everything else we tried were good too! We left them in the car while we went to eat dinner later, and I didn't get to put them in the freezer till hours later. But after I took them out to let the rest of the family try it, they were as good as before! Not to mention my whole family devoured it... If only it was closer to SF, that would be...amazing...

    Tell him what you want and he will make a recommendation to you that will make you keep coming back. While I was in there for a holiday order, he gave me one of the mini cheesecake tarts, raspberry, and it was so creamy and deeeeeeelish... I went with the caramel apple and the pumpkin cheesecakes, but kept in the back of my mind that I liked the raspberry too! There are a TON of choices and if you ask him sometimes he will make one special for you. Don't frown at the prices for you will not be disappointed!

    We bought the 12 pack poppers to take to the beach. Charlie gave us 2 free samples when he found out that it was our first visit there, so +1 star for service and friendliness (not that this place needed it). We ate a few poppers while they were still frozen. The strawberry and blueberry poppers were decadent and refreshing. Not too creamy, flavors were all-natural, and the cheese taste doesn't overpower the others. 5 solid stars! We recommend eating them slightly frozen / very chilled. They lose their consistency somewhat when they're completely thawed (like after sitting in a hot car for 2 hours thawed), but that just shows that Charlie doesn't use artificial stabilizers.

    For the love of all that is good and tasty, Charlie's Cheesecake poppers were literally an explosion of delicious, melt-in-my-mouth flavor. I ate 4 (of the 6 I bought) in the car on the way home. The fruit flavors are labeled as 80 calories each and the richer flavors are 90 calories each. But really, I couldn't care less how many calories each of these bite-sized treats are because they're so good, I should have probably bought the 12-pack instead of the 6-pack. So good. The Silicon Valley Classic (the plain flavor) was RIDICULOUSLY good. I think I might actually have to drive back before they close tonight to get more for after dinner. So so so so so good. I've always slammed living in Almaden as being a little boring, but Charlie's more than makes up for it. De-lish.

    I was really amazed at how much flavor was in Charlie's Cheesecakes bites. We ordered them for a work birthday party, they came within 24 hours and had a deluxe variety to pick from. I spoke directly to Charlie when I ordered which was really nice and humbling. He let me know that all of his cheesecakes were made the same day and packed tightly and shipped out that night to ensure fast delivery. Forget the Cheesecake Factory.     I use to think the Cheesecake Factory was as divine as cheesecake could get until I swung by Charlie's for a sample. I opted for the mini's (1 oz. bites) since I am planning on buying about 36 for a shower. The bites are great, and one feels quite guiltless popping a few of them. Anyway, the cheesecake itself is just wondrous. Who knew cheesecake could be soo creamy, yet light and extremely flavorful all at the same time?? Ugh, now I can't imagine cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory (super heavy). Strawberry tasted like Dreyer's icecream and the chocolate tasted like a Dove milk chocolate, or even a creamy cup of hot chocolate. Mmm. I am so glad I found this place since I will be bringing bites to parties and whatnot now. I can see it all now--this will be the hit of parties to come. Very well priced, crazy variety of flavors, comprehensive website, and great service. What more could you ask for??

    I love mom 'n' pop shops like this, run by good, hard-working people who take obvious pleasure in selling what they love. I placed an order online after work for a Silicon Valley Classic Cheesecake (Charlie's take on an NY Cheesecake), and picked it up bright and early the next day. The whole process couldn't have been easier, with friendly and warm service the entire time. The idea of cheesecake poppers are sheer genius. Most people (myself included) find cupcakes a little too sweet and rich for their tastes, so the milder, slightly tart cheesecake poppers make a perfect cupcake substitute. I know what I'll be bringing to my next potluck! So if you've been following me so far, this reads like an easy five star review. But now, the other shoe drops... Quite frankly, their cheesecake isn't all that mind-blowing, and certainly not as good as the reviews led me to believe. It had very good flavor, but the shortbread crust was a tad too sweet and the texture of the cheese filling was a little dry and just wasn't very smooth or rich. I was expecting a rehash of my incredible cheesecake experience at The Grill on the Alley in downtown SJ. Instead, I got my auntie's cheesecake (though, to be fair, she does make a mean cheesecake). I'll still come here since the cheesecake poppers are perfect for parties, but I won't be expecting the world from them anymore.

    Charlie's Cheese cake is delicious, light and flavorful. I went to his shop the first time on a whim armed with a coupon for the sample pack that came in the mail. The store is very simple, really just a counter at the front of their production bakery. There was no eleborate display like a main street store. Charlie was very nice and helpful. I mentioned the sampler and the coupon. Even though I was buying the sampler he still gave me sample popper. We enjoyed each of the flavors. The second time we went, was for my daughter's birthday. I was too sick to make cupcakes to send to school so we bought the 35 pack of poppers for her class. The kids loved the cheesecakes even though they were nothing like the over frosted store cupcakes usually served up on birthdays.I've noticed that they usually just eat the frosting of the cupcakes anyway. It was a deal at 24 dollars, 23 with our yelp discount. He was even willing to swap out some flavors when he heard it was for a 1st grade class. We had a great expereince at Charlie's and will be back soon.

    This place not only has the best cheesecakes ever, but the service that Charlie provides is warm and top notch! Spoke to Charlie on the phone to place an order for a bday cheesecake for my gf StephN. I couldn't decide so he said to come on in and he'd sample me on the one's I was choosing between. I ended up going with the strawberry and had him write a birthday message on it in chocolate. It wasn't the most legible of cake messages, but hey, its "Charlie's Cheesecakes" not "Charlie's Caligraphy Center"! Before I left he threw a cheesecake popper my way and tacked on a lil discount for finding his place on yelp! Everyone at the bday dinner couldn't stop raving about the cheesecake and how it tasted fluffy and light with the perfect creaminess.     Love love love 'em poppers. Called to make sure someone will be ther after 6pm, Charlie picked up e phone and said every weekday he's there until 6:30pm. Great, we are on our way. Got there, came in and there was Charlie talking to a repeat customer with a small counter and a big bakery behind him with mixers,freezer, kitchen and all. We were then greeted and I told him I'm here for the cheesecake poppers and handed my coupon, $9.50 for 2 dz. He said no problems and had a mini-convo with my daughter about her school and tested her on some math problem before he gave us some samples. WOW. I wanted more samples but then walked out with my 2 dz and could not wait to taste all the other flavors. Do keep them in the freezer before you serve and bring them out right when you are ready to eat. We brought it over to a friend's house for an after dinner dessert and it was a hit. Perfect small dessert with awesome flavors. Will def come back and buy more and more.

Part of me comes for the cheesecake poppers-they're smooth, light, come in small portions, and are light on your wallet. The flavors are all delicious-no kidding. The other of me comes for Charlie and his environment. His shop is adorned with pictures of family. His personality makes you wish everyone in the world were like him.     Two words: Yum! Yum! Popped in yesterday and bought a box of poppers! Charlie was there and is an absolutely delightful person. If you're undecided, he's not afraid to offer you a popper. The poppers come frozen - so let them thaw slowly in the your fridge. I mentioned to Charlie how I missed Uncle Otto's and he mentioned that he had just had dinner with Otto and his wife recently. Once he said that, I knew I was about to take a modified trip down memory lane. I was not disappointed! These are seriously good cheesecakes. Charlie does use a shortbread crust rather than the graham cracker crust. In general, I like the shortbread crust. It would be nice to have the graham cracker on the fruit cheesecakes though because fruit marries well with graham crackers. Or at least graham cracker crust as an option on custom orders. Okay, onto the bites.................. The cappuccino bite was fabulous! The chocolate chip? Oh yeah. The caramel? Devine! The raspberry and strawberry flavors taste of fresh fruit. (The only caveat with those is that as they thawed, they lost a bit of creaminess due to the fresh fruit giving up a bit of moisture.) The chocolate bite? Well, that one just took me by surprise. I actually liked it. I typically do not like chocolate cheesecake because I don't care for the combination of cream cheese and chocolate - the chocolate was really good. I had a plain bite for breakfast this morning. O! .... M!.....G! Next up we are going to order a full peach cheesecake. Son is looking forward to the holiday's when Charlie rolls out his eggnog cheesecake.

My wife's office was having a party and I knew this would be a great opportunity to finally try out this place....well first I called Charlie 10 min to closing that I wanted to run over and pick up a party tray.     I have driven by Charlies for YEARS and it wasn't until a friend had something posted on their Facebook page about how good it was that I even noticed it! Charlies is the smallest little shop with the best little cheesecakes inside! Don't expect to be wowed when you walk in, its almost a comercial distribution looking shop, but just wait till you have a bite! These are my new give aways for my clients and they LOVE them. I must say I have to put them in my trunk when I get some to give away because I won't make it a block before cracking in to the box to 'sample' them. I decided to get his favourite, cheesecake, and perused Yelp for some cheesecake places so I didn't have to get a bad one from Whole Foods that will go bad in two days. I decided on Charlie's because they have a HUGE selection of cakes, you can order from their website, and they didn't seem pretentious. The website has a huge list and photos of cheesecakes that you will probably lust over as soon as you look at them. I ended up choosing the Caramel Cheesecake for my dad, since he is the only person on the planet for whom cheesecake itself isn't sweet enough. I placed an order on my iPhone around 2am, got a confirmation email from Charlie's around 9am, and the next day, I went to go pick up my cheesecake. SO FREAKIN' EASY ! The shop was easy to find and super laid-back. Their business is cheesecake and they enjoy making it, so the shop is not cluttered with cupcakes, birthday cakes, wedding cakes, or anything you don't need to enjoy your cheesecake. My friend and I got complimentary cheesecake poppers (I chose raspberry, she got blueberry) when we picked up the cake ($27.95 and well worth it !), and oogled the photos and menu for more cakes. She is dying to try the Cookies and Cream, and I want the Cherries Jubilee for my birthday (HINT HINT). But the real question is, did my dad like it ? My pops ate his first slice BEFORE his dinner, he was so excited. And he actually approved, which he rarely does when it comes to my food choices. Sucess !! I usually can't stand cheesecake because it's so sweet and I hate sweet things (I know, it's not normal), but I had half a slice and was so glad I did. The cheesecake is light and sweet, and you can tell they use all-natural cream cheese: it almost tastes...healthy. The caramel flavour also felt very natural, and completely unlike the fake caramel flavours you find in most products. The cake lasted like three days. Not that it went bad, we just devoured it. I think I gained three pounds on cheesecake alone-and totally confused my pancreas-but it was totally worth it. I totally recommend this place, even though you have to venture into the depths of the Almaden Valley to get there.

    Charlie runs the shop, he is very friendly and fun. The cheesecake poppers are awesome! The texture is light and creamy. The flavors are all natural, so they taste fantastic, and most flavors are on a shortbread crust which is a delightful change of pace from the typical graham crust. I've now tried blueberry, caramel, plain, and key lime, all absolutely fantastic! if you like cheesecake, I highly recommend trying Charlie's!!

    This place was an amazing find! The owner is a super nice guy! He has a policy that if you've never been there before, you have to try before you buy! Yeah! so we got a free sample AND we mentioned we found the place in Yelp and he gave us a buck off the dozen cheescake poppers pack. They are great frozen! We live in Gilroy and are going to try to get his party pack into our Costco down here. These cheesecakes HAVE GOT TO BE on our dessert table this holiday season!!! They are so good, if we can't get them into our Gilroy Costo by then, I am willing to make the drive to San Jose to get them--they are THAT good!

    Charlie is a sweetheart and now that I've had his cheesecakes, I'm never going to be able to get it anywhere else. His cheesecakes are the creamiest and most flavorful I've ever had. If you visit the website, there are forty or so flavors displayed in mouth-watering glory. But keep in mind that if you walk-in to the store without pre-ordering, the selection is much smaller. Charlie likes to keep his cheesecakes fresh, so he will rarely have more than ten-fifteen flavors pre-made. To me, that's just fine, because everything sounds so tasty that I need to have my selections narrowed down. But if you have your heart set on Bailey's Chocolate Cheesecake for St. Patrick's or Cranberry Orange for Thanksgiving, order ahead of time. Charlie offers his cheesecakes in a 1 oz. Poppers size (sold in packs of 12) that are perfect for parties, 4 oz Bambino size (perfect for individual servings or splitting on a romantic evening) that my boyfriend and I take on picnics, and a 9" round cake that serves up to 16 people. There's a size that suits every need, and customer service couldn't be better! Charlie is almost always there when I come in, and he's one of the nicest people I've ever met. Drop in today! Eat a delicious, fresh, wonderful cheesecake tonight! (You'll never, ever go back to Cheesecake Factory or anywhere else again!)

    Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had a craving for cheesecake. Although I would typically suggest the Cheesecake Factory, my boyfriend saw the favorable ratings on yelp for Charlie's Cheesecake Works (as have I several times before) and decided that it would be nice to try something new. When we got there, we were greeted by a gentlemen. I didn't catch his name, but I believe it was Charlie :) He was very sweet. We let him know that we were first time customers there and that we had discovered the store through yelp. He let us have a sample of their poppers, which caught our attention at first bite. He also gave us a small discount on the 12 pack of poppers that we bought. We had to buy it! :D Overall, I have more of a sweet tooth than my boyfriend so for me, it was delightful, but for my boyfriend, it was perfect. Nevertheless, I definitely recommend this place!

    What a find! I came across the reviews on YELP and it was right down the street from my house so I went for a visit this weekend. Totally worth the trip! The cheesecake poppers were a huge hit at my dad's birthday party. Another huge plus is they sell wheat free versions of their fine cheesecakes. My mom has celiac and Charlies partners with a local woman who makes wheat free products that are great!! My mom loved the cheese ravioli and Choc chip Biscotti

    What better way to end a fantastic dinner than with Charlies Poppers--they're just-over-a-bite-sized cheesecakes in unbelievably creamy, flavorful goodness. You can even order them online and have them Fed-Ex'd to you. Not open on Sundays but open 7:00AM - 6:00PM (Monday-Friday), 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Saturday). We had an assortment of 4 flavors (strawberry, caramel, plain, and chocolate) and I almost ate the whole box of 2 dozen. Eat them frozen, though, because once they have time to soften they're harder to take out of their paper wrapping, although i "managed" to do that just fine.

    So i found Charlie's Cheesecake Works via yes you guessed it... Yelp! Was going to be in the area and looked up Desserts and being a big cheesecake fan, decided to try This place out. So some friends & I drove from Vallejo through wind, heavy rain and driving amongst idiots on the road, but determined to get our cheesecake fix. When we found the spot, the ONLY gripe I have is that the place is very small and the sign wasn't like Pad-ow!!! Other than that... It was so worth the drive & the money! Charlie was such a sweetheart .... Such an adorable fella! You can try before you buy was what he told us. Well, I absolutely love the key lime cheesecake and the cappuccino and the blueberry and the strawberry... Well what can I say, I love cheesecakes and this place just made me fall in love with them all over again!

    What I wouldn't do for another box of cheesecake poppers! They are creamy, icy (if left in the freezer) and have the perfect crunch with the crust at the bottom. Mention yelp and get 1.50 off poppers and cheesecake. It also doesn't hurt that charlie is the nicest man ever! He will give you samples to see what you like and very attentive.

    Needed to bring dessert to a family party. Being the difficult person that I am I decided to do something different than say grocery store cookies. Thanks to Yelp I find this place...it was waaay far for me but again I am a difficult person. lol Thankfully the bf is a major fan of cheeesecake so I didn't have to convince him to come along. It was 30 min before closing on Sat but the owner was cool and helpful. He readily offered us a free sample each which convinced us to buy 35 poppers instead of our original plan of 12. $25 for 35 poppers (7 different flavors)...little bites of heaven I tell ya. Needless to say they were a major hit at the party...we spent a lot of time discussing our favorite flavors. Next time I have to bring dessert, I'm going here. And I'm going to buy an extra box to keep for myself!

    Happy mouth! Cheesecake poppers (a nice assortment) straight out of the freezer are the best. Firm but not heavy, chill, and has a nice little crust at the bottom. I also got a small gluten-free banana bread which was a little expensive ($6) but was worth it because it was moist, had nice banana taste, & wasn't too sweet. The front service area is small but neat & organized. The older man working there is really friendly & helpful. It's kind of tucked in an older looking shopping center next to a thrift shop. I will definitely return.

    Locally owned cheesecake shop that I like to see do well and support. Staff is incredibly friendly and offers free poppers to sample once you walk in. I've purchased both full cheesecakes and poppers here and always finished off every last crumb. The cheesecakes poppers are a brilliant idea with the variety and single serving size. The four stars are because I have a sweet tooth and the cheesecakes here are more tart than what I'm used to, and also drier. It's a personal preference more than anything. Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes have the creamy/moist texture I'm looking for but are sickeningly too sweet. My ideal cheesecake would lie somewhere between Charlie and The Cheesecake Factory in sweetness. This is still a great place to get a cheesecake, go try out a free popper and take a pack home with you.

    Wow!! Their cheescakes are AWESOME!!! My sister & I swung by and tasted the mocha one, it was so good! My sister also gave them 5 stars, and she doesn't even really like cheesecake! I'm excited to find this place, especially since it's so close to my house. I will be buying a Key Lime Coconut pie for my husband's bday next month. I'll report back how I liked it (I'm sure we'll love it!). Oh, comparing this to "Icing on the Cake" --Charlie's is way, WAY better. You can really taste how fresh the ingrediants are (I'm really picky about that).

    Tried the plain classic poopers and they were great! I felt 6 poppers for $6 was a bit pricey...order more and they do get cheaper. The poppers are tiny at 1oz, so you can try different flavors. I thought they were too tiny to really enjoy, so I going to try the 4oz size for $4. Again, still $1 an oz, but I'd rather support mom and pop shops! Almost done with my first round of p90x and Charlie's is going to be my 90 day reward!!!

    YUM! We found Charlie's on Yelp and decided to give it a try since we LOVE cheesecake. When we walked in Charlie immediately offered us samples since it was our first visit and we used the yelp discount to buy a 12 pack. They are SOOO yummy. We like them thawed for about 10 minutes out of the freezer but they are good frozen too. WE really LOVE the pumpkin, Key Lime, and Vanilla...and that is mostly because we haven't got to the rest of them! We also noticed they are now selling these yummy poppers at Costco on Almaden!!

    I believe the hype is quite well placed for a shop like this. You go here, you get your cheesecake, your sample popper (they will offer), your free bambino (when ordering online, they specifically tell you to print out a coupon for a free bambino, a 4 oz cheesecake), you pay and you're on your way off. Everything is simple and friendly. But the cheesecake? Well, I had ordered a party pack for a friend's birthday party occuring the same night. The sample popper I ate wasn't absolutely amazing, but it was pretty damned good. I craved more afterwards, but had to wait about eight hours later just to open the party pack. So sad. The cheesecake popper had a very rich taste to it, worthy of the hype. It wasn't rich as in too sweet, it was rich in that you can really taste the freshness of each ingredient. The texture was at first a little rough like frozen ice cream (the cheesecake is put in the freezer before serving, although some like to thaw it out), but then suddenly it becomes soft and creamy and defines the "melt-in-your-mouth" feeling. The crust below was crunchy and was also definitive of itself. Each component of the cheesecake complemented each other but stood out on their own. That's what you call a cheesecake. As if my opinion wasn't sufficient enough, the party people thoroughly loved this convenient box of 35 1 oz cheesecakes. I live about 30 minutes away from Charlie's Cheesecake Works but I would be happy to come back and pick up another one.

Mmmm, one of my personal favorites! ( I love when brides and grooms choose this as their wedding cake of choice, by the way!) Talk about the epitome of a delicious product at a great price along with excellent customer service. Here's why: I am currently on crutches after having a major surgery. Charlie not only took initiative to help me with my Cheesecake order, he grabbed the cheesecakes without asking, opened the door, and walked me to my car; quite a rare character trait to see these days. Back to Charlie's; I LOVE the Cheesecake POPPERS! A small cheesecake packed with flavor and a super, delicious graham cracker crust. My favorites' are the Blueberry and the Key Lime (SUPER YUMMS!)     I won a gift certificate for a cheesecake from Charlie's and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the plain Silicon Valley cake so everyone could top it the way they wanted. It was delicious!! I love traditional graham cracker crust, so was wary of their shortcake style crust. Turns out it's fantastic. I tried a Cappucino popper and loved it too. I will definitely be going back for more.

    We went there for the first time last weekend after I found it online while searching another bakery. so we finally had a chance to stop by and am sure glad we did. We picked up a pack of Poppers after Charlie made us sample one. it was REALLY good so we bought the big pack of poppers. Planning to buy more for a BBQ we're attending next weekend. We also picked up a loaf of gluten free banana bread. We don't normally buy or eat gluten free, but my wife likes banana bread so we decided to give it a try. If I had any complaints about the bread it would be that I didn't get very much of it, it was gone the same day. Tasted really good, glad I managed to steal a couple pieces at least.....     BEST CHEESECAKE EVER! 10X better than Cheesecake Factory! I wish they were closer to my home but I guess that would be a bad thing because I'd get fat! =X Anyway my favorite flavor is the silicon valley cheesecake (plain old-fashioned yummy cheesecake) because I'm pretty boring when it comes to cheesecake. I could care less about all of the more creative flavors! However that isn't to say that the other flavors don't rock also. They have mini cheesecake poppers that come in many different flavors that I really enjoyed as well. The texture of his cheesecake is just so smooth and creamy but it doesn't feel overwhelmingly heavy it's more fluffy so if you're a fan of cheesecake then you'll love Charlie's cheesecakes! What makes their cheesecake so good is that they use a sugar cookie crust instead of a graham cracker crust. It makes all of the difference! Plus the owner is a really nice and sweet man. He seems to run the shop by himself and he's just one of those people that you can help but find endearing and charming. This is the best cheesecake ever!!!!!!

    After reading all of the yelp reviews I knew this was the place to order a Birthday cheesecake. I stopped in this morning shortly after 7am. Charlie was very warm and welcoming. He asked me how I heard about him I said yelp and he surprised me with a discount and then went above and beyond and let me try a cheesecake popper and then to top it off he sent me away with an extra treat. The cheesecake popper was DELICIOUS so of course I know the cheesecake will be AMAZING.     i'm a glutton when it comes to dessert - and lately i'm craving anything other than chocolates... i flirt with the different flavors, and am insatisable in terms of wanting to try a bite from every different flavor - cake, cheesecake, cupcake, what nots. i'm not sure how i've never been here before... CHEESECAKE!!!! the little shop doesn't stand out in the strip mall.. but Yelpers have never steered me wrong, so i walked bravely in... at first i was confused, there isn't any big fridge displays of cheesecake to be seen - none! there's a whiteboard with flavor names on it.. the guy (i assume he was Charlie) was friendly and polite, and explained that he has all the cakes and poppers (cheesecake poppers, that is) in the big industrial-looking fridges. i ordered a 12 pack of the poppers - the thought of trying 1-2 bites of various flavors satisfied my greedy need to try 'every available flavor'. the guy then asked if i've ever been there before - and then offered me a sample popper when i explained that i found him on yelp and that it was my first visit. The popper was still frozen but surprisingly smooth and edible! and he gave me an automatic discount for mentioning Yelp!!! i didn't even know i would get a discount... ---------------------------------- but the cheesecake poppers are worth every penny. i wolfed down my frozen sample of keylime popper. when i met my friend, i had her taste a popper, and to be fair - because i am that nice and can't let her eat alone - i had a blueberry poppe. DELISH. the texture is even smoother now that it's not frozen. if you have the patience to wait 10-15 minutes for the frozen poppers to be at normal temperature - please do it! the cheesecake was flavorful and full-bodied, without being too heavy. the popper sizes are perfect - just enough to taste the true flavors, without overloading the senses with one singular flavor. i'm going to fight the urge to eat the rest of the poppers myself, but it's a tough battle. if you have self control issues over intense, great flavors of desserts, you might want to buy a pack of poppers, keep one and give the rest away. i'm doing all i can from digging into these yummy cheesecake poppers sitting prettily in my fridge. 5 Stars, LOVE this place!!!!

    Yes. Charilie and his cheesecakes deserve the 5-star average they have. After stopping in the store and sampling a raspberry popper, I bought a 12-pack of poppers for dessert that evening. You can't pick the flavors included when ordering the poppers, but of all the ones I sampled, none disappointed. I'll definitely be back for more!

    This is the best cheesecake i've ever had, bar none. Amaretto especially, but strawberry and raspberry and pumpkin and regular, and everything else i'm sure, is also terrific. They're shockingly dense - i can almost hear my arteries clogging up - but what's a little heart attack in exchange for cheesecake this exquisite? Every time my humongous extended family comes over, we pick up about three of these. And there are never any leftovers. None left for me. ::tear::

    We got the variety tray to try, I do think coffee and strawberry were the best flavors out of the mix. Taste better frozen as it's not very smooth in texture when it's in fridge temp or room temp.

    Sounds like I'm just going to echo what everyone else says. Charlie's cheesecakes are phenomenal, fresh, tasty, and I've never had any of my friends complain about their quality. Charlie is a great guy too. He's kind enough to bring the cheesecakes I order up to Mountain View so I don't have to drive all the way down to San Jose. Yeah, sure, he lives locally, but that's still service above and beyond the call of duty!

    I've been there a couple of times now. Great cheesecake and I love the variety. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the last time I was there, they were really pushing me to buy the party tray even though I told them I didn't want more. I understand a company wanting to get the customer to buy more, but after a certain point it looks like they're desperate for business.

    I bought some cheesecake poppers for my boyfriend's birthday awhile back. The man who helped me was super nice (I assume it was Charlie) and he gave me a discount for mentioning I'd found the place on yelp (hip hip hurray!). So the price was right :]. What I have come to realize with Charlie's is that I am NOT a fan of frozen cheesecake! Man its all hard, not creamy in my opinion. I let it sit out a bit to kind of dethaw, but Charlie specifically told me not to put in the fridge. Even after warming up a bit I just wasn't a fan, oh well. Josh liked them, but he's easy to please. I'll stick to cheesecake factory.

    My dad and I randomly found this place when they first opened up a LONG time ago. Unfortunately I only get to eat Charlie's cheesecakes when I visit San Jose, but every time I sample these I am very satisfied:) My favorites are key lime, raspberry, and the silicon valley classic. Two poppers after dinner makes a perfect dessert for me. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

    my first impression when i walked in was didnt expect that it was a factory where they were making and baking in front of you. its a small store, the guy greet me and ask what i was looking for and he actually let me taste their cheesecake. i tasted the cappuccino bite it was okay, wasn't like a real cheesecake, it was frozen and the bottom part was very cold and mid/hard!! tasted the strawberry, a little sour! i still end up purchasing vanilla, choco and cappuccino then thaw it before it was serve!

    I'm not going to comment on the taste just the service. We went in there for the first time and were really looking forward to a great experience because of all the yelp reviews. I had a CBS Local Offers deal which had gotten me two 12 packs for $9.50. I guess Charlie realized this was not good for his bottom line because he was not friendly to us at all. I was not offered a sample and was ready to leave with my two packs when another customer came in (without any voucher) and he offered her a sample right away. This made me extremely disappointed and my husband actually asked him for a sample so our son could try it. I'm not the one who made him sign up for the CBS Local Offers deal so if he has soured on it, then he shouldn't have taken it out on me. My son said it tasted really great and I would be going back BUT FOR the rude service we received. We didn't even eat the 12 packs because we were taking them to someone who had just had breast cancer surgery. I just can't believe he would turn off potential repeat customers like that. Very unprofessional.

    Came here to get 2 party packs of 35 for a little mixer. I must say that these are a hit for mixers. Every one was a fan. The owner was working and asked us how we found him. Yelp check-ins get you a discount. The are a bit far to travel to get and can be purchased from your local Costco in the freezer aisle. However they are about a dollar or two cheaper if you check in at the store. Must try? yes Try again? most definitely.

    Ordered a box of 35 cheesecake poppers for a coworker's going away party online and Charlie replied right away. I was able to pick it up in a few hours. Charlie was very friendly and he gave me a free sample. The cheesecakes are very rich and creamy. He even let me use a yelp discount so I saved myself a few bucks. Woot!     Adorable mini cheesecake "poppers". Perfectly sized for a bite. Of course, don't expect to just eat one. They're cute and addicting. We brought them to a birthday dinner and everyone loved them.     Go get you some Cheesecake Poppers...you will not regret it! Even if you're not a cheesecake lover, these are sooo delicious and worth it! And best of all, you won't even feel bad about eating it cause they're small and good for portion control....that is, unless you eat the whole box by yourself in a matter of 2 days.. (oops!) The owner's super friendly here too! He usually gives you a free popper to sample, but be ready to work to get that sample...usually in the form of some sort of math question! Don't worry though, even if you're no math whiz, like me, you'll still get that free popper! If you don't want to make the trek all the way to Almaden, I have seen the poppers sold at my local Costco, so hey, now you don't have an excuse not to try them!

    First time visiting the place last week and I was skeptical of what kind of quality product I would get. I asked for a sampler and Charlie himself was nice enough to let me try one of the cheesecakes. I picked the Blueberry one and was convinced right away so I bought 3 boxes. One for home and two for work. And I would say they were a hit. And the best thing, he gave me a pretty good deal for checking in on Yelp. More than the 2 bucks or so that the app shows. $70 for 3 boxes plus two single serve ones. Then I also got a swag, too. A fridge magnet. The cheesecake themselves are quite tasty. They just don't hold well on a hot summer day and should be kept on a freezer or the fridge if you don't plan on storing them for a long time. My favorite were Blueberry and Vanilla and probably a lot of others, too, so they were gone pretty quick. I always try and look for places to get some unusual desserts and pastries. Granted, Cheesecake poppers are not that unusual but it definitely made my list of go-to places whenever I want something to give out or just fill my need of sweets.

    We've discovered the place a couple of years ago and we keep coming back. The cheesecake poppers are delicious. My favorite is the cappuccino, and my son's the blueberries, but they are all so very good. The price is fair and there are discounts options as well, but the best of all is Charlie himself! Buying at Charlie's Cheesecake is always fun. It feels like visiting an amiable relative. When I am with my kids, Charlie lets them earn a cheesecake popper by answering an age appropriate math question, which they love.

    I am so in love with this place. My big brother took me here for one of our adventure days and it was amazing. Charlie gave me a sample or the original flavored popper and I nearly ate the wrapper. BUT IT'S OK BECAUSE THE WRAPPER WAS DELICIOUS TOO. If the drive wasn't so far, I would go here everyday. My friends and I stumbled across Charlie's Cheesecake Works on Yelp and decided to give this place a try after a girls' day out. Why not end the day with some cheesecake? After all, the three of us have an unhealthy affinity for sweets. We entered the store and met Charlie. He asked us if we've been to the store before. We told him no. His motto? "Don't buy it until you've tried it." Charlie gave us each a full size sample of his cheesecake poppers and we all instantly fell in love with them. What did we end up doing? Buying 35 cheesecake poppers which come in 7 different flavors:blueberry, key lime, vanilla, chocolate, cappuccino, raspberry, and strawberry, and splitting them between the three of us. Yes, 35 cheesecake poppers between 3 girls. They're that good. And honestly, it was hard to stop eating after just one. What's different about his cheesecake is the crust. Usually with cheesecake, we get a graham cracker crust. Here, we have a shortbread crust which makes it a little bit softer and unique. I just wish the crust was a little thicker. What's even better? If you check in on Yelp, you get a discount. Instead of $25, we get to have 35 cheesecake poppers for the price of $21.50. I can't wait to go back. Next time, I want to try one of his regular size cheesecakes. His menu lists 40 different flavors. They all sound yummy.

    30 days of no dessert. Day 1: 8 cheesecake poppers down. I think this is going well. don't you? It was Presdient's day and I thought I would reward myself because I had to work. I called just to make sure they were open. Charlie picked up the phone. He was chipper and very nice, informed me that they were open until 6pm and on my way I went. The store is in a plaza that seemed a little run down, but nevertheless I was excited because of all the prior yelp reviews. I looked in the small fridge by the door and couldn't decide what I wanted. Do I want the 10 pack or the 35.. or do I just want a couple. Charlie asked if I had tried any of them before and when I told him I hadn't, he said with a smile, "you can't buy any until you've tried it!" Offered me a selection, and I picked the strawberry one. Within that first bite, I knew I had to get the 35 pack. The poppers are just the perfect size. You can have one if you just want to satisfy that sweet tooth, or the whole box if you want to indulge like me. My favorite ones were the strawberry, cappuccino and the key lime one. Mind you the key lime is REALLY tart but still so very awesome. I was a little hesitant about the cappuccino one at first, but it blew me away. Maintained it's cheesecake flavor but just enough of the caffeine taste to make perfection! if you've had a cream cheese roti bun from honeyberry, that's what it tasted like. I didn't care too much for the chocolate one. Tasted more like chocolate mousse rather than cheesecake, I had to wash out the taste with, of course, another cheesecake popper. ^___^ By the end of the day I only had 5 left. Oink. yelp deal when i went was 35 for $21.50

    Years ago, when I was married and dinosaurs still roamed the Earth, I visited Charlies. Perhaps my imploding marriage affected my taste buds but at the time I remember thinking it wasn't that great. And then I stumbled across it the other day on Yelp and, seeing all these fantastic reviews, I thought I should give it another try. Post divorce, Charlies is the bomb. Strolled in this morning and of course, Charlie was front and center to greet me. Although I desperately wanted to get the 35 popper pack, my Weight Watcher's brain advised me to get the 12. It was filled with an assortment of cute little cheesecakes, vanilla, raspberry, key lime, chocolate, cappuccino, they were all there. Charlie did his "Try before you buy" even though I'd been there in the past and told him this. Key Lime cheesecake before noon? Hell yeah. It was tart, it was creamy, it was a tiny bit of heaven. The regular price for the 12 popper pack is $10 but because I mentioned that Yelp had sent me there, he gave me a $1.00 off. Seriously, does a day start out any better?

    Both the cheesecake poppers and the service were ah-mazing to say the least. My boyfriend's family was visiting from the east coast, and I really wanted to bring them some kind of dessert. After reading all the other rave reviews, I knew I couldn't let them leave without trying this awesome mom n' pop shop. Unfortunately, my GPS said I would get there right at 6pm because of all the traffic on 87. I decided to call and see what my options were since I was so close yet so far. Charlie answered the phone and told me not to worry.     I LOVE IT HERE SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! It was my first time here and it was a wonderful experience overall. I came here with my little brother and my sister and Charlie welcomed us with open arms!     This place is ridiculous... really? Cheesecake poppers? These things are dangerous. They're so small you can eat one of each of them. I tried to be civil and split a popper with the Canadian but it was taking too much time.. just pop it in my mouth already (ok.. maybe a big mouthful, but you get what I'm sayin'...)! Rewind a couple hours, we arrived at the shop and were asked if we had ever been there before. Much to our delighted surprise, Charlie has a "Try before you buy!" policy.. OKIE DOKIE! I had the pumpkin and the Canadian had the key lime. Good Lawd they were good! The pumpkin was creamy and the key lime had some kick! They were goooooood!!!! We went in with the hopes of walking out with two dozen, but after we sampled, we ended up buying a Party Platter. Two dozen for our party and one dozen for us! Sweet! Got home and couldn't help but pop the blueberry one in my mouth! So yummy! The texture is just so smooth and creamy and the flavors are just the perfect compliment! The berries are the best but my favorite has to be the strawberry: just a perfectly balanced strawberry cheesecake bite(s) of heaven... and of course, the key lime. The key lime is definitely a winner! Go get some! But whatever you do, make sure you have enough to share!

Well worth the trip, many different flavors to choose from and they also have muffins if you are lucky enough to get one while they're hot. As a cheesecake eater, I have to admit this was a treat.     I thought I'd try this place by the great reviews it has and WOW it's not deceiving at all. My first reaction as walked into the store was like were are all those amazing cheesecakes everyone is talking about?! It's a very quiet little shop with nowhere to go but the counter. We actually drove more than 20 miles for these poppers. I thought I'd buy the 6 piece set, not too many and just for one. We were offered free sample as our first time there. My Boyfriend got a Cappuccino cheesecake and I tried the Chocolate. They were both amazing little poppers with so much flavor, we really didn't want to share with each other. I ended up buying the 35 piece knowing that I would have to share with my boyfriend eventually as he enjoyed his free sample. We wasted no time at all and started popping these poppers into our mouths during the whole ride back home. My favorites were the Chocolate, Cappuccino, Raspberry, Strawberry, and Blueberry. My least favorites were the Key Lime, and Vanilla. The vanilla is still enjoyable, I just have never been a fan of vanilla as far as I can remember. As for the key lime, it very interesting, but just not a fan. Maybe when I crave something sour-ish tasting for sure this would be the first thing to pop into my mouth. Overall I was impressed and since we have been popping these poppers throughout the day, I definitely well be returning soon.

    I found out about Charlie on yelp and thought I'd give his bite sized cheesecakes a try. I'm sure glad I did because they are absolutely heavenly! He gave me a sample of the strawberry cheesecake and it was amazing! I bought the 12 pack of bite sized cheesecakes for my fiancé for valentines day and I am so excited for him to try them as well.     I love getting the little cheesecakes for parties they're great. Everybody gets a choice and they're tasty. We get them frozen and keep some for special occasion. Like, umm... Tuesday! Or a crappy day at the office. You can take out a single serving cheesecake from the freezer and not have to eat a whole huge cheesecake! I also love that he takes square as a payment option.

My kids love coming here to visit Charlie as he gives them a free cheesecake for solving a math problem (example: how many ounces are in a cup) and tells them how it relates to baking. He makes it fun for us to visit. Highly recommend ordering to bring to a dinner party, a birthday party or work event as everyone loves.

    I walked in really excited because of all the good reviews, but I've honestly had wayyyy better cheesecake. I walked in and the person working there offered me a sample and the sample was pretty big so I felt like I had to buy something. I sampled the key lime and it was decent, but when I got the actual cheesecake, it wasn't as pleasant. First off, we got plastic forks so it was REALLY hard to scoop up the cheesecake. Secondly, cheesecake was pretty hard. Thirdly, the worker wasn't as friendly as everyone was saying.. I asked for a recommendation and he just shrugged me off and said well whatever you like... Maybe he was having a bad day because it was cold and rainy, but that's still not an excuse to shrug off your customer. I don't understand where all the raving reviews are coming from, but maybe I just went on a bad day.

    Yesterday we went to this shop and we were gladly surprised and delighted by the pops and the service level. We have tried raspberry, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate, and they are DELICIOUOS! Very creamy and rich. My husband is not a cheesecake kind of guy, but he loved Charlies' I can't wait to try Amaretto, Biscotti, Snickers, Peanut Butter and Bailey's Chocolate We will come back for our gathering with friends and family.

    This is far from where I live and quite frankly when I went yesterday, I was stuck at the Almaden Expressway / 87 exit for over 10 minutes and cursed like hell in the car. It was cold and it was raining cats and dogs however, the personable Charlie sounded sweet and welcoming on the phone as he does in person. I originally wanted the individual cheesecakes but he mentioned the poppers would be an ideal fit so of course I went w/ his suggestion because instead of 1 each, I would have 12 poppers! And at around 90-100 calories each, "Heaven!" Charlie wanted me to sample one before purchasing them which got me hooked instantly. I really did not want to try as I did not want to feel blah aka fat for my get together but I could not resist the friendly gesture. Yelpers- there is a savings for checking in! I bought this for an indoor picnic which I did not get to enjoy until my drive home but it is well worth it. I loved them all especially the chocolate and cappuccino one.

    I couldn't quite understand why shops that sell cheesecakes were routinely getting 5 stars. What was it about their cheesecakes that were winning the raving reviews? I had an event to go to in South San Jose, and had to make that my excuse to pay Charlie a visit. Now I know why. Got the 35-pc party pack, and they were scrumptious and tasty, especially when left in the refrigerator or freezer, when they're nice and cold. Not sure what adjectives people typically use to describe cheesecakes but to just say they were "good" would be an understatement. To top it off, Charlie offered me a free taste test -- which, arguably probably didn't cost much, but won me over with his kindness and generosity. I'll keep this short, because other peoples' posts already say how great this place is. Will come back if I'm in the area. Thanks, Charlie!

    I love cheesecake. I love Charlie's Cheesecake. I love Charlie for making these cheesecakes. I came here twice so far, and both visits were beyond spectacular. He sells cheesecake as little poppers: tiny bite sized cheesecakes in assorted flavors. Charlie will ALWAYS let you try them before you buy 'em, so sample away! I swear they're all freaking delicious. Sooo gooodd. I can't explain it.. you MUST try it yourself! Both times I came here, Charlie was superrrr friendly and helpful. ***Check in on Yelp and get $1 off!*** The first time I came here, my friend and I couldn't wait to eat the poppers at home, so we devoured them in the car. Charlie had to get something from his car & saw us, so he told us to go back inside & he'll give us a free refill of the tray. YUP, super nice, right!? The second time I came, my sister and I ate the poppers on the table outside the store. Again, Charlie noticed and told us to head inside for a free refill. OMG, we all love you, Charlie!!!!! He runs this place & makes all his cheesecakes by himself. Charlie, you're my cheesecake hero. :')

    Gotta be kidding me. They made cheesecake even better... how is this even possible? My cousin's birthday cake came courtesy of these guys. I think it was a strawberry flavor, but I'm not sure it matters what flavor you get because it's just so good. There's a crunchy bottom that adds a nice textural contrast to the cheesecake-y (is that a word?) goodness that was just so rich and sweet. And this came just a few minutes after a dinner full of delicious goodness of all types... but that's what good desserts are supposed to do, right? And what these guys made definitely hit the spot. I can't wait to hit the second slice that we brought home.

    I called before I came to see if there were ready-made cakes for my coworker and Charlie picked up sounding so lively. When I came, he knew it was my first time and let me try a popper. He was VERY friendly and I loved that about his character. However, I feel so bad to say this but the texture of the cheesecake was not my cup of tea. One of my coworkers said, "It's like... paste" and I didn't even realize it until she said it; I just thought it was reallllly thick instead of creamy and did not just melt on my tongue. However, the cheesecake is still full of flavor. I love cheesecake, but I'm just not sure about this one.

    I came in an hour before close on a weekday and Charlie himself greeted me! Ended up getting the 35 piece popper box, brought it to a dinner party, and they were gone before we ate our meals! I had a bite of all flavors and ALL were delish. Parking was easy enough in the lot shared with other businesses. If you're driving south on Almaden Expressway from Blossom Hill, make a right onto Redmond and then a right into that small shopping center. Can't miss it!

    My sister found this place on yelp and made me come along. I had imagined it to be in some fancy area because it's cheesecake. When we got there, my reaction to the store's image was..."ghettooooo". We even drove past it because we didn't think it was the right store. When we got there, i made myself get out of the car after checking in ( you get 35 pcs of cheesecake for $21.50). When I walked into the store, this old guy was super friendly. He asked us if this was our first time there and we said yes. Then he said "the rule here is you must try it before you buy it" My sister tried the keylime cheesecake and I tried the strawberry cheesecake. It was sooo gooodd. This would be a good place to get your share of food for potluck or for special occasions.

    I love Charlie's Cheesecake! He is such a sweet friendly guy too. I told him that I ran into his business on yelp and I had my cousin's from the Philippines with me. He gave each of us a sample and said that if we came back the next day he could make us a batch for them to bring home the next day. Haha, I am pretty sure he was joking because we all know what happens after a flight that is 16 hours... they either eat it all or it gets melted ;p That exemplifies the type of service he gives. I got the 35 piece party pack to a dinner that my brother was having at his house. My favorites were blueberry and chocolate, but that is because I tend to favor anything with those ingredients in it.

    I got the opportunity to try the raspberry cheesecake from here when someone brought it for a birthday. It was pretty fantastic! The flavor tasted just as it should, like raspberry. The cheesecake itself was nice and smooth and the crust was delicious. I'm definitely going to try some other flavors!

    The cheesecake poppers were amazing!! The 35 pack is totally worth it for only $20. Charlie was very sweet and offered us samples right when we walked in. And the sample wasn't just a small piece of the cake- it was a whole popper! I only wished there were more flavor varieties but I would definitely go back because it was so good. The cheesecakes have a good texture and the flavor wasn't too rich and overwhelming. Even my boyfriend who didn't like sweets couldn't get enough of it!

    A buddy brought these cheesecake poppers to a white elephant exchange and I fell in LOVE upon first bite! These taste way better than cheesecake factory or even Juniors in NYC. I don't know what heaven tastes like, but this MUST COME CLOSE. I can't believe it took so long for me to make a personal visit. This place is a little bit far a drive for me, but totally worth it. When I walked in, Charlie was helping out another customer. I've read the reviews on how nice and social he was and witnessed it myself. However, their conversation dragged on and I wanted to interrupt them so badly because I was already running late for work, but I didn't want to be rude so I waited. Charlie to me looked like a mad scientist with his glasses and white overcoat. We started talking and here is what I found out so yelpers read this below: ATTENTION ALL YELPERS: There's a yelp deal right now! I just got 35 cheesecake poppers for $19.99!!! This is a great deal so come get them ASAP. Another tip: EAT THESE FROZEN. They aren't very good when they're soft. ***UPDATE: just found out they sell the same box at (almaden expressway and fremont) COSTCO for $16.99***

    I would go out of my way everytime to get my hands on these bites of heaven! Where is it near? Oakridge Mall and Whole Foods. Check-in? You get 35 poppers for $19.99! Are there samples? Yes! Pick your favorite flavor to try. My favorite way to eat them is to pop them in my mouth right out of the freezer. My sweetie prefers it to defrost for 15 minutes so it's nice and soft. Whatever way you like it, you definitely need to try it! Love it and WILL drive 35 minutes everytime to get some!

    Came here for the first time looking for some cheesecake bites and was given some samples. Yummdedum! Can't believe this man (Charlie) makes these delightful bite size pieces of heaven! Deeelicious! As soon as we get home we dive into the box and sample every flavor and true to the reviews, they were all awesome. But key lime = 2 thumbs up! All the other flavors were good too, but there was something extra special & refreshing about popping some frozen key lime cheesecake bites in your mouth- it was cold, sweet, tangy, and pretty much an overall happy party dancing on your taste buds. Anyhow, it was a fun Friday going here, even thought the joint is small and basically an in and out mission. UPDATE: Saw the same pack of 25 cheesecake bites at Costco on Hostetter Rd./Automation Pwky for $13.99!!!! Feel like I got ripped off making the drive to South San Jose and paying $21 after discount. Wtf.

    I am huge cheesecake fan and this place was right up my alley! Pros: Quality: The cheesecake are super delicious! Each flavor has their own unique touch. I like keeping my cheesecake bites sitting outside from the freezer for about 10 minutes to have a creamier textured bite. Variety: I personally love a taste of everything, so at Charlies you can choose the many flavors offered.The small servings are perfect for sampling many flavors in one setting. Plus, cheesecake bites are great for parties or other festivities. Price: The prices are pretty decent for the quality you're getting in any package. The only disappointment I have is that all flavors on their menu are not offered when you walk in. SO order in advance if you have a large order and or have a specific flavor in mind. Overall, its worth the hype and it was even featured on Best of Bay.

    I decided to try Charlie's Cheesecake after reading so many great reviews on yelp. I decided to stop by before work, so I can share these treats with my friends. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Charlie. He was really friendly and helpful. I wanted to purchase the cheesecake poppers, which is easier to share. He kindly showed me the 12 pack and 35 pack. I was tempted to get the 35 pack, but I felt it was too many poppers..lol. I decided to purchase the 12 pack, since it was a decent size and small enough to fit my freezer. =) I had to ask Charlie which flavors are in the variety pack, and he told me the different flavors. I wish there was a color coding on the box, since I had trouble remembering the flavors later on..lol. Since it was my first time purchasing these cheesecake, Charlie offered me a sample right away! I thought that was really nice of him! Charlie took out a variety popper pack, and he allowed me to choose one. I quickly chose the chocolate popper, since I love chocolate cheesecake. It was a bit too early for me to eat sweets, so I decided to eat it at work. When I brought the 12 piece variety pack to share with my friends. They all seem to enjoy it. I would highly recommend that people serve these poppers right out of the freezer. If it is straight out of the freezer, the cheesecake has the perfect texture. It was creamy, too. After sitting out for a while, the poppers got a bit soft, but it was still tasty. I tried the chocolate cheesecake popper and it was very good! I think the popper is the right size, so a person does not overindulge. There was a thin cookie crust layer on the bottom of each popper. Overall, Charlie's Cheesecake is very tasty! I can't wait to order a whole cheesecake next time. Charlie's Cheesecake is located in a small plaza, so look out for the huge 'Cheesecake' sign. There is plenty of parking in front of the store, too.

    First time here they offered me a free cheesecake pop to sample. I don't even like cheesecake and the pop size is perfect. You can buy an assorted box for only $10. Then if you tell them you found them through yelp they give u a discount. So my box ended up being 8.50. Great place I am definitely coming back.

    Never expected to find a place like like this in the center of Almaden Valley. What a treasure! First thing I saw when I came in was the car and fam pictures. That tells me "Family business", which it is. Supporting family businesses instead of corporations is a big deal to me. The next time I saw was a process control diagram on the wall. I have NEVER EVER seen a process diagram in a food place. Coming from a manufacturing background, having lot numbers and assessing the final product is normal, but in a confectionery? Never. To me, that says that the owner of this place cares deeply about the quality of the product. This too is very very important to me. If the man I spoke to was Charlie himself I came away very impressed with his commitment to a great product and I see why he's got so many positive reviews, he deserves them. So how does it taste? Exquisite is probably still an understatement. Each of the small sized cakes is perfectly bite sized and the flavors just explode. The strawberry and chocolate flavors are bright, but also nuanced. Most other chain places simply overflavor their stuff and it takes all of the "color" out of it. It took me a good few minutes to work out all the flavors in a single mini-cake. Truly impressive. I expected a little bit of sticker shock when our bill was tallied but the price is extremely reasonable. Hat's off to you Charlie, master cheesecake maker and true American Entrepreneur.

    This is our first time at this place and it was amazing! I love cheesecakes and have been looking for one that is not too creamy and not too dense and just firm enough to dig in and melts in the mouth and I can experience heaven! And I found it here! We had gotten the cake for a birthday party and all our guests loved it too! And especially the cheese poppers which were a big hit! Bite size perfection!     Good service. Great cheesecake poppers. I bought a dozen and finished 1/3 of it on the ride home. They taste really good frozen. The perfect ratio of graham cracker crust and cheesecake filling. The cheesecake filling isn't too sweet or too cheesy. The different flavors are good and all but I think the berried ones are the better ones. I like that it doesn't taste icy even when frozen. It'd make a refreshing treat for a cocktail party or dinner party. I'm looking forward to trying an actual cheesecake though.

    I tried the Silicon Valley Classic. You know a place is good when the get the original recipe right. The cheesecake was perfect. Creamy, smooth, and rich. The crust was really good too!! The ratio of filling to crust was just right. Perfect to pop in the freezer and take out to defrost any time.

    Love love LOVE Charlie's Cheesecake Works!! These are the best cheesecakes I have had in a very long time! The mini sizes are perfect for anyone wanting a small snack. They're also great because you get to sample different flavors without getting sweets overload. The flavors are really good and sweetness on these cheesecakes is just right. Aside from the amazing cheesecakes, what really makes this place stand out is Charlie, the owner! He's super friendly and you can really tell that he loves what he does.     This is my first time buying from Charlie's Cheesecake and to tell you the truth...it is the best fucking (heck lets add in another "fucking" because its just that good) cheesecake I ever had, and also quite unique at that too. Why is it unique? This place reminds me of a cupcake store but instead of cupcakes you get an individual cheese cake poppers, which take a couple bites to eat the whole thing. I got the 12 pack and with the yelp deal it was around $8~. When I got there, I was quickly welcomed into the bakery which is awesome customer service, not to mention the owner(?) gives you samples of the whole popper flavor because according to him "You can't buy it unless you tried it". Just can't get over the fact how darn good this place is.... The only "cons" I have about this place is that it looked pretty empty, but I assumed that's given since I went around late afternoon. Not a huge fan of the mocha (?), but everything else I've tasted so far is delicious. Part of me will be slightly sadden if this place became extremely popular because I wouldn't be able to come so late in the afternoon there will be cheesecakes still left. I can confidently say that this place is A LOT A LOT A LOT better than cheesecake factory and with the popper sizes, you can get many different flavors too without having to dedicate yourself (and wallet) to one whole slice.

    I was looking for a place to get my graduation cake, so I stopped by Charlie's last weekend to pick up the sampler pack. After trying ALL of the flavors, I decided that my favorite was the amaretto. I've never had an almond flavored cheesecake, but this was delicious. It was a nice twist on the regular cheesecake flavor. I would say that the cheesecakes are good. My only complaint is they're pretty sweet, so it was hard for me to eat more than 1 or 2 poppers at a time. Also, I think they could improve on the crust, which was very thin. Charlie should use a thicker graham cracker crust, which would go excellent with the cheesecakes! I like how you can get them in different sizes and there's such a variety of flavors to choose from. As others mentioned, it's very convenient if you're planning a party and need something quick and easy to serve. Friendly service, clean shop, and free samples!

    I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake in general, but this place is awesome and deserves 5 stars. I've come in here twice, and both times Charlie gave me (along with four of my friends) free cheesecake. That alone deserves five stars in my opinion... Anyway, the first time I came here, I was planning on buying some cheesecake poppers and bringing them down to Los Angeles as a gift. I had no idea the poppers were frozen,and I told Charlie of my plans, so he gave me a free insulated bag and ice pack. When I arrived in Los Angeles five hours later, the poppers were still frozen and very delicious. Every flavor was very very good, the crust at the bottom is very very good. Like I said, I am not really a cheesecake fan, but I am definitely a fan of Charlie's cheesecakes.

    Don't get me wrong, the cheesecake here is delicious, but I think the real treat is the actual Charlie of Charlie's cheesecake. Being a first timer there, Charlie was very welcoming and very friendly (even though he made me struggle with some simple math problems in order to try some samples). He continued to be amusing and offered a couple discounts for us since we were introduced from yelp was a plus! the store also seems pretty darn high tech for a mom & pop store as they embrace new technology such as square trade for mobile credit card payments. Onto the food... The cheesecake poppers were da bomb, each "pop" was a mini firework in my mouth. the poppers are creamy and each flavors is subtly delicious and distinct. I ordered the 35pc assortment and was not disappointed. I would definitely come back to try their other cheesecake varieties (maybe even order from their website as they do shipping) and would recommend! But to be fair though, I have had much better cheesecakes, but the place is just so awesome that is deserves 5/ 5 overall ... and I have not tried everything yet...

    Came here after reading about this place on yelp. Charlie is very friendly, gave 3 of us each a sample popper in a flavor of our choice, and they were delicious. My mom also asked him to switch out one flavor for another in the popper variety pack, which I don't think she realized you can't pick and choose the flavors, but Charlie was nice enough to just give us a each popper in that flavor she wanted. Will be returning here. So far all the ones we've tried are very fresh and flavorful! Different than cheesecake factory - more dense, but delicious!

    I can't believe this little gem is still here! Saw the poppers at Costco in Sunnyvale the other day and bought a box. Same delicious poppers! Will definitely be back to visit the home base and get mom a full sized cheesecake next time I'm in San Jose. I used to come here all the time as a senior in high school and absolutely loved the service and the poppers. It was tiny, clean, and full of neighborly cheer. Back then I went through having hot pink and red hair and teenage angst, and the service was still great! Any place that can make a 17 year old a repeat customer for 9+ years must have something going for them! Poppers and price are still great! Can't wait to go back and sample the service and full size cheesecakes soon. .

    Yum yum in my tum tum! The cheesecake bites are made to perfection. My favorites are blueberry, vanilla, and strawberry. I got a box of 35 "poppers" for $22.50 because I mentioned Yelp. The old man that works here is so sweet. He even offered us samples twice! I'm actually a little suspicious about him...I have a gut feeling that he's Charlie even though he pretends not to be.     A little shop in a little plaza. I was visiting friends for the weekend and they said this place was good so I went to pick some up for a party. Charlie offered samples (whole samples) for us to try. He said "you cant buy it unless you have tried it" so we did. There was a checkin deal so I ended up getting that. 35 mini cheesecakes of 7 flavors. Love it! I loved all of them, but chocolate was my least favorite, strawberry would be number 1. I prefer it not frozen, you taste the cheesecake more. Frozen, it taste more like ice cream.

    I really like this place. Charlie's Cheesecakes are sooooooo yummmy. These cheesecakes are one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. I've only gone to this place twice and i have only gotten the variety 12 pack of mini cheesecakes. Place is small, but its not a place to eat at, it's more of a pick up and go place. Charlie is the one that will greet you, he is very friendly and helpful. If you tell him that it's your first time there he will give you a sample of any choice of cheesecake. (Sample is a mini cupcake size). You can also let him know that you found the place on yelp, and he will give you a discount. I live about 15-20 minutes away from this place. But the drive is worth going here!! Check out this place you won't be disappointed!

When I saw the solid 5 stars for Charlie's Cheesecake Works and pictures of these cutesy, bite-sized delights... I had to! It is true my friends; Charlie is friendly. The most convenient thing about purchasing cheesecake poppers here is that he has a bunch already made, frozen, and waiting for your cash. You don't have to go through the pre-planning hassle of pre-ordering. I got two boxes of a dozen poppers for $19 total ($9.50 each). Flavors in the box included key lime, cappuccino, dulce de leche, blueberry, plain, strawberry, chocolate, and raspberry. Now the reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because although I think the cheesecakes were well made, I feel like you could make these at home just by finding a recipe online. I think it'd be cool if Charlie could venture into really unique flavors... kind of like what some ice cream shops are doing nowadays with flavors like Guinness, strawberry balsamic, lychee, etc. But if you're in charge of desserts for a potluck, this will definitely warrant ooh's and aah's.

    Cheesecake at its finest! Promised good ol' Charile I'd write a review and tell all of you guys about him so here I go. This was place was amazing! My friend and I went here to satisfy our cheesecake craving after searching for a good place to find cheesecake and mann this place really hit the spot! Charlie's cheesecake is in quite a small plaza but near the main bustling Almaden Expressway. Although it's hidden, I'm glad I found this place. The cheesecake was delicious. The cream was just right and surprisingly, there were a good variety of flavors to choose from. When we wanted cheesecake, we had just wanted to try the original generic flavor for cheesecake, but these flavors made it so much better! We tried the tray of 12 cheesecake poppers and my favorite ended up being the blueberry one. What's also outstanding about this place itself is Charlie. He's a friendly guy with a kind personality. Greeted us and immediately, I found myself talking to him as if he were some old friend I talked to everyday! He also let us sample his cheesecake before buying and honestly, I could've eaten a whole tray of 6 poppers by just trying the flavors out alone! But the first bite into that strawberry popper finalized my decision about buying! Great place to satisfy your dessert cravings and I will definitely be coming back here for more!
